Axis Communications introduces Zone 1/Div 1-certified PTZ camera for safe operations in hazardous environments

Its video-based smoke and fire detection monitors early signs of fire in combustible environments, helping reduce fire risks. Built on ARTPEC-9, it supports AV1 codec and provides accelerated performance to run impressive analytics applications on the edge. For instance, AXIS Object Analytics can detect people in restricted areas and supports safety compliance with hard hat detection. 

Dubai, UAE, February 2026: Axis Communications announced an 8K AI-powered multisensor camera that delivers smooth and cohesive 180° panoramic overviews for complete situational awareness. Enclosed in an electropolished stainless steel casing, it’s made for the toughest conditions.  

AXIS Q3839-SPVE Panoramic Camera delivers 29 MP at 30 fps with 180° horizontal coverage and 90° vertical coverage for ultra-clear overviews with no blind spots. Designed for the harshest environments, it comes in a corrosive resistant stainless steel (EN1.440 SS 316L) casing and can handle temperatures from -50 °C to 55 °C (-58 ºF to 131 ºF) making it ideal for wide area surveillance in marine environments such as on ships and in harbors. Easy to clean and maintain, it’s also certified by NSF/ANSI to Standard 169 (Special Purpose Food Equipment and Devices) for use in food processing facilities.
