Abu Dhabi, UAE May 18, 2026:Special Olympics UAE announced a comprehensive athlete health program to be delivered as part of the second edition of the UAE Games 2026, taking place from 6–10 June 2026 in Abu Dhabi. The Games will bring together athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities from across the UAE, with the aim of supporting athlete health and advancing their overall well-being and quality of life.

The 2026 edition of the UAE Games is expected to welcome more than 1,000 athletes competing across a diverse sports program that builds on the success of the inaugural Games, further promoting inclusion and competitive opportunities for athletes. Alongside the competitions, the Healthy Athletes® program will be delivered in collaboration with a number of healthcare partners. The initiative will engage 29 Clinical Directors across various disciplines, including seven for Fit Feet, nine for Special Smiles, seven for Opening Eyes, and six for Health Promotion. In addition, 127 clinical volunteers and 280 supporting volunteers will contribute to the program over a three-day period.

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 18مايو2026:أعلن الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي عن برنامج صحي متكامل للاعبين يُقام ضمن فعاليات النسخة الثانية من “الألعاب الإماراتية 2026″، التي تنطلق خلال الفترة من 6 إلى 10 يونيو 2026 في أبوظبي، بمشاركة واسعة من لاعبي الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي من أصحاب الهمم من ذوي الإعاقات الذهنية والنمائية من مختلف أنحاء الدولة، وذلك بهدف دعم صحة اللاعبين وتعزيز عافيتهم ورفاههم.

ومن المتوقع أن تشهد النسخة الثانية مشاركة واسعة تتجاوز 1000 لاعب ولاعبة، ضمن برنامج رياضي متنوع مبني على ما تحقق في النسخة الأولى، بما يعزز فرص التنافس والدمج الرياضي. وعلى هامش الألعاب، ينظم برنامج “الكشف الصحي” بالتعاون مع عدد من الشركاء الصحيين، حيث يشارك في تنفيذه 29 مديرًا طبيًا موزعين على التخصصات المختلفة، بواقع 7 لبرنامج صحة الأقدام، و9 لبرنامج صحة الفم والأسنان، و7 لبرنامج صحة الإبصار، و6 لبرنامج التوعية الصحية، إضافة إلى 127 متطوعًا سريريًا و280 متطوعًا داعمًا على مدار ثلاثة أيام.

وإلى جانب الفحوصات الصحية المجانية؛ سيتم تخصيص غرفة استراحة لدعم صحة اللاعبين بعد المنافسات، تركز على التعافي البدني والوقاية من الإصابات وتعزيز الصحة العامة.

Drawing on data collected through the Healthy Athletes program, the study reflects a structured, institutional approach to leveraging field data to inform the development of specialized healthcare services for People of Determination, enhancing responsiveness to athletes’ needs and improving the quality of care provided.

دراسة علمية محكمة تنشر في الدورية الطبية “فرونتيرز إن أورال هيلث”

شارك في الدراسة 656 لاعبًا تم فحصهم ضمن 10 فعاليات صحية نُفذت بين سبتمبر 2022 ويوليو 2025، في إطار برنامج الكشف الصحي وتخصص “صحة الفم والأسنان”.

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة 6 مايو 2026: أعلن الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي عن نشر دراسة علمية مُحكّمة في دورية “فرونتيرز إن أورال هيلث- Frontiers in Oral Health“ الطبية المرموقة، تمثل خلاصة فحوصات أجريت في إطار برنامج “الكشف الصحي”. وتعتمد الدراسة نهجًا مؤسسيًا قائمًا على توظيف البيانات الميدانية بشكل منهجي لإنتاج معرفة علمية تدعم تطوير الخدمات الصحية الموجهة لأصحاب الهمم، بما يعزز كفاءة الاستجابة لاحتياجات اللاعبين ويرتقي بجودة الرعاية المقدمة لهم.

استندت الدراسة إلى تحليل بيانات 656 لاعبًا تم فحصهم خلال 10 فعاليات صحية نُفذت بين سبتمبر 2022 ويوليو 2025، في تخصص “صحة الفم والأسنان” ضمن برنامج الكشف الصحي، لتوفر بذلك قاعدة بيانات علمية غير مسبوقة على مستوى الدولة ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.

وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة مؤشرات إيجابية تعزز فرص تطوير ممارسات العناية بصحة الفم والأسنان، بما يدعم تصميم برامج وقائية وتوعوية أكثر فاعلية لذوي الإعاقات الذهنية والنمائية، إلى جانب تطوير نماذج رعاية صحية متخصصة قائمة على الأدلة. كما تشير هذه النتائج للدور الحيوي الذي يلعبه برنامج الكشف الصحي في الرصد المبكر، وتوفير قاعدة بيانات دقيقة تسهم في الارتقاء بالخدمات الصحية وفق أفضل المعايير العالمية.

28 Athletes with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities set to compete in Athletics, Bowling, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Badminton.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – February 9, 2026: Special Olympics UAE athletes have begun their participation in the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, which kicked off last Friday. A delegation of 28 athletes is competing across five key sports: Athletics, Bowling, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Badminton. This participation aims to promote inclusion through sport, providing athletes with international exposure, opportunities for exchange, and a platform to showcase their empowerment on a global stage.

The Opening Ceremony featured a symbolic moment for the movement, as Special Olympics UAE athletes Saleh Al Marri and Alyaa Al Muhairi joined the parade of flags. Representing their respective sports, the duo carried flags in a display of belonging and the spirit of achievement.
