Large Crowds of New & Expectant Moms Celebrate ‘Mom’s Day Out’ at Thumbay Hospital Dubai.
The third edition of the annual event drew more than 1000 participants and around 3000 visitors.
The annual ‘Mom’s Day Out’ event of Thumbay Hospital – Dubai, the leading academic hospital owned and operated by Thumbay Group, turned out to be a fun-filled evening with plenty of interactions, games, contests, prizes and valuable information for the crowds of moms and expectant moms who had thronged the hospital premises on Friday, 28th April 2017.
Considered one of the biggest event of the kind for new and expectant moms in the country, ‘Mom’s Day Out’ is a unique annual program to entertain and enlighten the participants on pregnancy and motherhood. Over 1000 participants and around 3000 visitors were present at the event this year.
The event was an exclusive occasion for new and expectant moms to understand motherhood better through a variety of activities like one-to-one consultation with the experienced doctors of Thumbay Hospital on matters related to pregnancy and issues concerning newborn babies, in addition to a variety of activities including games and contests. Activities included Online and On-Ground Contests, Diet & Nutrition Counseling, Beauty and Spa Relaxation Station, Mother & Child Product Exhibition, Yoga Session, and Fun Activities and Games.
Participants also had the chance to win prizes from the exciting contests specifically the Royal Bake and Win Contest and the Super Mom Facebook Contest. Here is a list of winners who bagged prizes from online contest:

The event was designed as a complete and comprehensive program with activities across various one-on-one zones, viz., Understanding the Changes in Women’s Body during Pregnancy, Taking prescribed Medicines and Vitamins, Stems Cell Banking, Stages of Pain during Labor and Delivery, Ways to Relieve Pain, Breast Feeding Challenges and Techniques, Touch Therapy, Positive Parenting and Building the Baby’s IQ. There were two special sessions conducted to impart knowledge to parents and first-time parents. First session was spearheaded by the celebrity dietician Ms. Mitun De Sarkar, who gave valuable insights on weight management during pregnancy and after childbirth and the second session was led by Ms. Susie Carr, a Trainer from Life Works Foundation who focused on Pre & Post Natal Depression
The event helped many participants overcome their anxieties on motherhood and clear common misconceptions on pregnancy, as they attended the one-on-one consultation with senior gynecologists, pediatricians, dieticians and other experts. The expert doctors stressed the importance of the special care pregnant and lactating women needed during Ramadan. A wide range of prenatal and antenatal products were also showcased and demonstrated before them.

Sharjah Tatweer Forum (STF) has set the stage for its foremost Annual Retreat 2016 to highlight innovation in the manufacturing and industry sector. To be held in partnership with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Al Maha Resort and Spa from December 9 to 10, 2016, the Retreat titled ‘24 Hours of Proactive Thinking’ will take an in-depth look at the crucial role of innovation in reshaping and transforming the production industry in the 21st century. The Retreat comes at a time when the contribution of Sharjah’s manufacturing sector to the UAE’s gross domestic product (GDP) is steadily growing. To date, the sector’s share stands between 14 per cent and 19 per cent, and it is predicted to go up to 25 per cent by 2025.

 

During the two-day event, renowned speakers and guests will discuss topics of international importance such as global manufacturing trends and innovations, the UAE’s manufacturing and industry strategy, and key measures to build and sustain the sector’s competitive advantages. Around 25 to 30 leaders and stakeholders, including high-level representatives from the government, private sector, academia, and federal and local agencies as well as select STF members, will participate in the discussions and analyses of the industry.

STF partnered with SAP to help achieve the Retreat’s objectives. As part of their collaboration, SAP will conduct a design thinking workshop for leading stakeholders to generate solutions to challenges and come up with key action plans. The design thinking workshop will divide the participants into groups, wherein each group will focus on one facet of the manufacturing and industry sector relevant and significant to the UAE.  Each group will craft and design innovative solutions to ensure the sector’s growth.

 

Jassem Albloushi, Chairman, STF, said: “The attendees will exchange ideas and expertise as well as jointly come up with collaborative solutions to enrich and enhance the manufacturing and industry sector in Sharjah and the UAE. They are expected to devise schemes to lift and uphold the sector’s competitive advantages. The outcomes and results of their discussions will be shared with relevant authorities, institutions and organizations to encourage long-term coordination and effective implementation of recommendations. Furthermore, the participants will have an opportunity to adopt and execute innovative ideas based on their respective organizations’ experiences or they may even suggest active public-private partnership arrangements to move forward and promote innovation within the sector. We at STF look forward to this fruitful exchange of knowledge and skills.”

 

On the other hand, H.E Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “Sharjah has been both a part of and a close trading partner with the region’s most vibrant economies.
