- New NFC-enabled initiative allows customers to tip delivery riders with a simple tap
- Riders receive 100% of all tips, including those from Tap to Tip initiative.
- Partnership aims to make acts of appreciation more visible and accessible in everyday interactions

UAE, Dubai, July 30, 2026 – Visa and noon have partnered to launch Tap to Tip, a new initiative designed to make it easier for residents across the UAE to support delivery riders through simple, contactless tipping. As the UAE continues its shift toward digital payments, opportunities to tip in cash are becoming less common. Visa’s latest Where Cash Hides study found that 80% of payments in the UAE are now made digitally, while tipping remains the single largest use of cash, with 58% of consumers still relying on cash when leaving tips. The Tap to Tip initiative introduces NFC-enabled stickers across noon’s rider network, allowing customers to make contributions with a single tap using their smartphones.
By tapping the sticker displayed on a rider’s delivery bag, bike box, helmet, or uniform, customers are directed to a dedicated tipping page where they can securely complete their contribution. The initiative is designed to make tipping more visible and accessible, encouraging small acts of appreciation for the riders who help keep communities connected every day.
“Delivery riders play a vital role in our communities, helping people access food, groceries, and everyday essentials wherever they are,” said Salima Gutieva, Vice President and UAE Country Manager for Visa. “Tap to Tip demonstrates how innovation can make it easier to recognize and support the people behind these everyday moments. By simplifying digital tipping, we are creating more opportunities for consumers to show appreciation through fast, secure, and convenient payments while supporting financial inclusion across the digital ecosystem.”
“Our riders are the people our customers see every day, and they deserve to feel recognized for the work they do,” said Ali Kafil-Hussain, Chief Business Officer, noon. “Customers have always been able to tip on noon, with 100% of every tip going directly to the rider. Tap to Tip simply makes that appreciation even easier. It’s a small change that gives customers another simple way to say thank you and helps us continue recognizing the people behind every delivery.”
The launch builds on Visa’s commitment to using technology and payments innovation to create meaningful impact in the communities it serves. By turning a simple tap into an opportunity to support delivery riders, the initiative encourages a culture of everyday generosity and highlights the role digital payments can play in enabling positive social outcomes.
As one of Visa’s strategic partners in the region, noon brings scale and reach through its extensive delivery network and digital platform, while Visa powers the payment experience. Together, the two organizations aim to make tipping a more seamless and intuitive part of everyday interactions.
Customers can begin using Tap to Tip by looking for the NFC-enabled stickers displayed across participating noon riders and tapping their smartphones against the sticker to access the tipping page. Customers can contribute at any time, without needing to place an order, with tips pooled and distributed across noon’s rider community. True to noon’s ongoing commitment, riders keep 100% of their tips, including all pooled funds from Tip and Tap initiative.
