United Arab Emirates, October 2, 2024:  The College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University, the UAE’s largest private academic health system, recently organized its annual celebration of World Pharmacists Day in collaboration with Thumbay Pharmacy and with the support of the Modern Pharmaceutical Company (MPC) group.

This year’s celebration aligned with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) theme, ‘Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs,’ highlighting the crucial role pharmacists play in addressing health challenges both locally and globally. The event not only prioritized the importance of pharmaceutical professionals in improving healthcare access and outcomes but also emphasized the need for ongoing education and advocacy in the field.

Introduction of New Medical Coding and Billing Professionals Course in Collaboration with Gulf Medical University and AAPC

United Arab Emirates – September 30, 2024: Thumbay Healthcare, the largest network of academic hospitals, clinics, labs, and pharmacies in the UAE, hosted the Insurance Meet 2024 on September 30, 2024, in Dubai. The event gathered participants from international and regional insurance companies, alongside government regulators from the Dubai Healthcare Authority, and served as a launchpad for essential training initiatives as the UAE prepares for the nationwide mandatory health insurance scheme set to take effect in early 2025. During the conference, a new medical coding and billing professionals course was announced, led by Gulf Medical University (GMU) in collaboration with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC, which aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to meet the growing demands of the healthcare industry.

Gulf Medical University Leads Major Collaboration with Top Chinese Universities

  • Zhejiang University PhD Students Undertake Research Internships at Gulf Medical University, Strengthening Global Academic Ties

Ajman, UAE – September 9, 2024 – A group of six female PhD students from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine (China) have successfully completed their research internships at the Gulf Medical University led Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine in the United Arab Emirates. The students’ summer 2024 internship provided a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technological platforms, including Affymetrix, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), confocal microscopy, liquid biopsy techniques, and zebra fish facilities. The program was instrumental in enriching their knowledge and practical skills in the field of translational cancer research, particularly in cancer immunobiology.
