DP World ILT20 to sponsor Ramadan cricket tournament in Dubai

  • The DP World ILT20 remains committed to supporting local talent and development of cricket in UAE
  • Dubai Capitals lifted the DP World ILT20 Season 3 trophy in February

Dubai, March 13 2025: Staying true to their commitment to develop and support UAE cricket, particularly at the grassroots, DP World ILT20 will sponsor the Ramadan cricket tournament to be held at the ICC Academy Oval 1 and 2 in Dubai from 13 March to 3 April 2025. 

The 22-day tournament will feature 10 domestic teams including the Dubai Cricket Council Starlets, Karwan Cricket Club, Emirates Fly Better, Seven District, Prospero Properties, Dubai Dare Devils, Consolidate Shipping Service, Z Games, Lexington Shot Guns, and GHK Properties, with over 200 players vying for the top prize. Each team will play nine single round-robin league games followed by semi-finals and the final. The tournament will be live streamed on both YouTube and Facebook.

UAE Athletes Secure Gold and Bronze Medals in snowboarding at Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025

Abdulla Al Nuaimi earned a gold medal, while Meena Al Mazrouei secured a bronze, marking a strong beginning for the UAE delegation at the inclusive global sports event.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – March 12, 2025 – The Special Olympics UAE delegation kicked off its participation in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 with impressive wins, as Emirati athletes showcased their exceptional snowboarding skills. Abdulla Al Nuaimi earned a gold medal, while Meena Al Mazrouei secured a bronze, marking a strong beginning for the UAE delegation at the Games.

This achievement highlights the athletes’ commitment and the intensive training they’ve undergone in preparation for the Games. With 11 players representing the UAE in the competition, the medals reflect the dedication and hard work put into their development over recent months.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of the UAE Special Olympics, said: “We are incredibly proud of Abdulla Al Nuaimi and Meena Al Mazrouei’s outstanding performances at this year’s Special Olympics World Winter Games. Special Olympics UAE Athlete Mina Al Mazrouei Raises the Special Olympics Flag at Opening ceremony of Turin 2025 Games

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 9 March 2025: Mina Al Mazrouei, a Special Olympics UAE athlete, raised the Special Olympics flag during the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Winter Games – Turin 2025, which kicked off yesterday evening in Italy.

This participation serves as a reaffirmation of the significant progress made by Special Olympics UAE in using sports to integrate people of determination into society.

Furthermore, the selection of an athlete from Special Olympics UAE, from among 1,500 athletes and unified partners from 102 countries, highlights the international recognition of the UAE’s unwavering support for people of determination and its continuous efforts to provide them with opportunities for active participation in global sports events.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of Special Olympics UAE and Head of the UAE Delegation to Turin 2025, said: “Since the Abu Dhabi 2019 Games, we have witnessed a new era of empowerment and excellence for people of determination in the field of sports. We have focused on investing in the strategy of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges, as adopted by our leadership.
