Social Detox: The Need of the Hour for Dubai’s Creator Industry

How KnackTag Media’s Halima Sadiya created the morning Dubai’s creator community didn’t know it desperately needed.

June 13, 2026

Halima Sadiya did not set out to throw an event. She set out to solve a problem she kept seeing everywhere around her. Talented, hardworking people in the creator industry who were burning out quietly, showing up to endless industry gatherings and leaving feeling more invisible than when they arrived.

On the morning of June 13th, KnackTag Media hosted Social Detox. An intimate, invite only morning gathering for creators, influencers and industry professionals that was designed from the ground up to feel nothing like a conventional event. No brand activations. No sponsor walls. No brief to produce content. Just specialty coffee, breakfast bites, honest conversation, and a room full of people who finally had permission to be real.

“We have normalised mindless scrolling to the point where we don’t even realise we’ve reached burnout. That’s the conversation nobody is having  and that’s exactly why we need a Social Detox.”

— Halima Sadiya, Founder, KnackTag Media

KnackTag Media is a Dubai-based media agency that Halima has been quietly and deliberately building into something bigger than a service provider. At its core, the agency works with creators, brands and PR professionals but the vision has always extended beyond campaigns and contracts. Halima has long believed that the creator economy functions best when the people inside it are genuinely supported, not just as professionals, but as human beings. Social Detox was the clearest expression of that belief yet.

The morning opened with a moment that set the tone immediately. Before a single panel question was asked, the audience was invited to check one thing: their screen time. Numbers across the room ranged from 9 to 12 hours per day. The room went quiet. That said everything.

What followed was a panel moderated by Halima herself — thirty minutes of conversation that covered screen time, digital burnout, the gap between what creators show online and what they carry privately, and what a genuine reset actually looks like in an industry that rarely stops moving. Joining her on the panel were Abdu Rozik, singer, actor and global celebrity; Varun Dhawan, Dubai-based RJ and content creator; Nawal Fagir, podcaster, TEDx speaker, and author; Kaunain, award-winning travel influencer behind CruisingCravings; and Sakshi Chanchal, co-founder of Social Kandura. They didn’t hold back. Neither did the audience. When the floor opened up, the room had plenty to say. That’s what tends to happen when honesty is genuinely welcome.

After the panel came a breathwork session led by Samantha, a certified Empowerment and SOMA Breath Coach. Through a carefully guided combination of rhythmic breathing, music, and visualisation, Samantha created a rare moment of stillness in a room full of people who rarely stop. SOMA Breath is a practice designed to regulate the nervous system, clear the mind and restore a sense of genuine presence something the creator world doesn’t make nearly enough room for. People came in carrying the weight of deadlines. They left noticeably lighter.

None of this happened by accident. The KnackTag team executed the morning with a level of care and attention to detail that made every moment feel intentional From the way the space was set up to the flow of the morning itself. It was the kind of event that looks effortless from the inside precisely because of how much thought went into it behind the scenes.

Guests also got to personalise their own name on resin a small, tactile keepsake that felt quietly symbolic for an event about slowing down and reconnecting with something that isn’t a screen.

What Halima has built with Social Detox is not just an one off event. The plan is to bring it back regularly, giving Dubai’s creator community a permanent space to come together, speak honestly and reconnect beyond the algorithm.

“The industry has plenty of events that celebrate what creators produce. Social Detox was about celebrating who they are.”

— Halima Sadiya, Founder, KnackTag Media

In a city that moves as fast as Dubai, and an industry that rarely slows down long enough to breathe, that is no small thing. And if the energy inside Casa Collective’s KnackTag HQ on June 13th was anything to go by Social Detox is not a trend. It is a need of the hour.
