Baseball United Conducts Historic Draft for New Dubai-Based Professional League

29 of the first 32 picks played in Major League Baseball, including former All-Stars Bartolo Colon, Robinson Cano, Pablo Sandoval, and Jair Jurrjens

DUBAI, UAE (October 26, 2023) – Dubai-based Baseball United announced today the official results of the league’s first-ever Player Draft. Eighty players were selected, with twenty picks for each of the league’s founding franchises – the Mumbai Cobras, the Karachi Monarchs, and the league’s two UAE-based franchises, the Wolves and Falcons. The inaugural Draft was dominated by former Major League Baseball (MLB) players, with 91% of the first four rounds and 45% of the overall Draft selections having played at the MLB level.

Emirati Hamda Al Qubaisi Wins Race 2 of the F1 Academy Round 7 Event in Austin, the United States

Austin, 23 October 2023-  F1 Academy racer Emirati Hamda Al Qubaisi has won Race 2 of the F1 Academy Round 7 event held in Austin, Texas in the United States from the 20th till the 22nd of October 2023. The rising F1 Academy driver was racing with MP Motorsport.

Born in 2022, Al Qubaisi started her racing career in karting. In 2017, she finished 3rd in the IAME X30 Championships before moving to Italian F4 in 2019. A year later, she won three races in UAE F4 before making a return to Italian F4. Another Formula 4 UAE campaign brought three wins and six podiums, amounting to a P4 finish in the standings.

The previous season of Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports saw participation from more than 1,500 students from over 75 universities across the MENA region.
