Abu Dhabi Airports Expands Freight Network to 36 Destinations

  • Cargo airline starts five weekly flights to Chiang Mai (CNX) and Chiang Rai (CEI)
  • First northern Thailand air cargo link grows AUH’s freight network to 36 destinations
  • Daily cargo volume grows 18% in most recent 7-day period compared to beginning of the year
  • Daily freighter cargo volume at AUH grows 119% vs baseline levels

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 7 May 2026: Abu Dhabi Airports has welcomed Thailand-based all-cargo carrier K-Mile Air to Zayed International Airport (AUH) following the commencement of freighter operations from 4 May. The airline will operate five weekly services using a Boeing 767 freighter to Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) and Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI), opening the first direct air cargo links between Abu Dhabi and northern Thailand and further expanding AUH’s global freighter footprint to 36 destinations.

Azizi Developments donates 200-million-dirham through building MBRGI’s Dates Factory in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 7 May 2026: Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, formally launched work on a 200-million-dirham project to build the ‘One Billion Meals Dates Factory’ in Dubai, a major humanitarian project under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).  At a special groundbreaking event held today at the project site in Margham, Mr Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, was joined by His Excellency Saeed Al Eter, CEO of the MBRGI, to mark this special occasion. 

This launch event follows the announcement on 24 April 2026 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, about this humanitarian initiative as a flagship investment of the MBRGI.  The One Billion Meals Dates Factory is set to become the largest endowment-based manufacturing facilities of its kind, producing 150 million date-based food units annually, with its entire output dedicated to food aid for underserved communities worldwide.  Azizi Developments’ contribution to this valuable humanitarian project is a donation worth 200 million dirhams towards the factory’s construction.
