Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi organises 3rd Abu Dhabi Government Leadership Retreat

Abu Dhabi, 15 December 2023: The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), in partnership with the Department of Economic Development (ADDED), has hosted the third Abu Dhabi Government Leadership Retreat to boost creative leadership and bolster productive collaboration among leaders in the government sector of the emirate.

Held under the theme Falcon Economy, the retreat was attended by 33 delegates representing various Abu Dhabi Government entities. The retreat, held at Strata’s headquarters in Al Ain, provided a platform for leaders to converge, align their visions and share valuable knowledge and experience on enabling Abu Dhabi’s Falcon Economy to guide the emirate’s next phase of economic diversification. The retreat also shed light on global government trends that can contribute to cementing Abu Dhabi’s position as regional economic powerhouse and its transition to a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy aligned with the vision of Abu Dhabi.

GHA-SCAI SHOCK MENA from 2-3 Feb 2024 in Dubai

GHA-SCAI SHOCK MENA: Region’s first cardiogenic shock event to raise awareness about the critical condition

Gulf Heart Association (GHA), the region’s professional cardiac care society with representation from 7 countries, has teamed up with the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI), the only professional medical society in the US dedicated solely to interventional cardiology, to bring to the region a first-of-its-kind conference on cardiogenic shock, GHA-SCAI SHOCK MENA.

GHA-SCAI SHOCK MENA will be held on 2nd and 3rd of February 2024 at Le Meridien Hotel and Conference Centre, Dubai, UAE. The two-day event will feature presentations, panel discussions, case studies, and workshops presented by distinguished cardiologists. They will discuss the condition of cardiogenic shock, and its presentation and management in the current era.

“Despite the advances in the management of acute cardiac conditions, cardiogenic shock represent a big challenge to cardiologists because of its high mortality,” said President of GHA, Dr Mohammad Zubaid, MB, ChB, FRCPC, FACC, FGHA. In his capacity as one of the leading medical researchers in MENA, he added, “We lack regional data about the incidence and management of this lethal condition. We plan to establish a regional registry focused on the care of these patients to understand the current landscape of cardiogenic shock and how we can improve these patients’ outcomes.”

GHA-SCAI SHOCK MENA will be a useful platform for interventional cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and intensivists to meet, exchange ideas and collaborate in the management of cardiogenic shock. It will witness participation from across the region and will provide the industry with the opportunity to network with leaders in this field and showcase their products and achievements in this field.

E-Mobility, A New Reality: UAE Residents Expect Complete Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Domination In A Few Years, Reveals Survey Amidst COP28

  • 63% of respondents plan to make EVs their primary mode of transport by 2025.
  • 73% confident the UAE will have charging stations every few kilometres by 2028.
  • 28% believe that by 2030, nearly 50% of the UAE’s population will be driving EVs or hybrid cars

Dubai, UAE, 15 December 2023: Al-Futtaim Automotive, one of the major divisions of Al-Futtaim Group – the Strategic E-Mobility Partner of the recently concluded COP28, today unveiled the findings of an extensive survey exploring the challenges and perceptions of UAE residents towards Electric Vehicles (EV) adoption. The survey was conducted in partnership with YouGov, collating responses from 2,008 respondents.

The survey revealed significant shifts in perspectives underscoring the changing landscape of transportation preferences, starting with 64% sharing that they are concerned about the environmental impact of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles; a fact clearly reinforced in their strong interest to shift to electric vehicles in the coming years.
