Thumbay Group Breaks Ground on the Region’s First Private, Fully Integrated Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Hospital at Sharjah Healthcare City

SHARJAH, UAE — 13 May 2026: Thumbay Group today broke ground on the Thumbay Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Hospital at Sharjah Healthcare City, a 110,000 square feet, 120-bed facility set to become the region’s first private, fully integrated hospital dedicated to psychiatric care, neuro-rehabilitation, and addiction recovery. The ceremony was led by H.E. Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed Al Mheiri, Sharjah Executive Council Member and Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Sharjah Healthcare City, in the presence of Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group.

The hospital is being built at Sharjah Healthcare City and is designed to address one of the most underserved areas in regional healthcare. With mental health and rehabilitation needs rising sharply across the UAE and the wider Gulf, the facility will offer specialized inpatient and outpatient services that have, until now, required patients to seek care abroad.

الشارقة، الإمارات العربية المتحدة – 13 مايو 2026: وضعت مجموعة ثومبي اليوم حجر الأساس لمستشفى ثومبي للطب  النفسي وإعادة التأهيل في مدينة الشارقة للرعاية الصحية، وهو منشأة تمتد على مساحة 110,000 قدم مربع ، بسعة 120 سريراً، والذي أنشأ ليصبح أول مستشفى خاص متكامل في المنطقة مخصص للرعاية النفسية، وإعادة التأهيل العصبي، والتعافي من الإدمان. ترأس حفل وضع حجر الأساس  سعادة الدكتور عبد العزيز سعيد المهيري، عضو المجلس التنفيذي لإمارة الشارقة ،  ورئيس هيئة الشارقة الصحية ورئيس مدينة الشارقة للرعاية الصحية، بحضور الدكتور ثومبي محي الدين، الرئيس المؤسس لمجموعة ثومبي.

يتم بناء المستشفى في مدينة الشارقة للرعاية الصحية، استجابةً للطلب المتزايد على خدمات الصحة النفسية وإعادة التأهيل  على مستوى الدولة والمستوى الاقليمي بالخليج  بشكل عام .سيوفر المستشفى خدمات متخصصة للمرضى عبر أقسامه الداخلية وعياداته الخارجية ، وهي خدمات كان المرضى يضطرون للسفر إلى الخارج لتلقيها.
