Summit to explore visionary approaches in regenerative and circular design

July 02,2025: Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has been officially selected to host the prestigious 2026 Cumulus Conference, one of the world’s most influential gatherings of art, design, and media education. Spearheaded by the University’s School of Architecture and Interior Design, the five-day global summit will take place in November 2026 under the theme: ‘Design(ed) Visions of Tomorrow | The Future of Human Condition’.

Held in the context of climate disruption, social uncertainty, and rapid technological advancement, the 2026 Cumulus Dubai Conference will bring together international designers, educators, and researchers to reimagine the role of design in shaping regenerative, inclusive, and ethically driven futures. The summit will explore how design can serve as a catalyst for rethinking human life and living systems across physical, social, cultural, and ecological dimensions.

From Canadian University Dubai students to key industry leaders: Emirati brothers excel in strategic HR roles

September 26,2024 : Dubai, UAE: Emirati brothers and Canadian University Dubai (CUD) graduates, Ali Sharif Al Marzooqi and Omar Sharif Al Marzooqi, both started their careers as junior executives in human resources. With a passion for the industry and growing professional expertise, they also recognized the importance of earning a formal qualification in the field.

Taking different routes to join the same degree program, Ali and Omar returned to education as mature students, enrolling in CUD’s Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management in the same year. As mid-career graduates they are now at the top of their profession in strategic roles with leading UAE organizations.

Canadian University Dubai students triumph in international design competition

Industry panel awards accolades to three pioneering interior design projects

April 22,2024: Dubai, UAE: Five students from Canadian University Dubai (CUD) have been recognized for their pioneering design projects in the latest edition of the LIV Hospitality Design Awards, announced recently in Switzerland.

Winning CUD students Haider Alhaider, Karen Munzer, Rowan Hassan, Alanoud Altaweel and Aysha Mahmoud

Alanoud Altaweel and Aysha Mahmoud were named among the winners in the Interior Design Wellness competition for their project BrEAThe, while Karen Munzer and Rowan Hassan were also among the winning teams in the same category with their design, Reminisce. Fellow CUD student, Haider Alhaider, received an Honourable Mention in Interior Design for his Japanese-inspired project, Kintsugi Oasis.

CUD climbs three places to #21 in the QS Arab Region Rankings

Institution upholds the top position as the #1 ranking university in Dubai

October 14th 2023, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has climbed three places, from 24th to 21st position, in the recently published Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Arab Region University Rankings for 2024. The latest ranking upholds CUD’s position as the #1 university in Dubai, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and dedication to enriching the region’s education landscape.

Speaking about the recent ranking announcement, Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Chancellor of Canadian University Dubai, said, “The most recent QS ranking of Canadian University Dubai, positioned at #21 in the Arab region, highlights the excellent standards of education, presenting students with the opportunity to study a Canadian curriculum in the heart of Dubai.”
