The Group’s solar energy initiative will involve the establishment of solar power plants at the production facilities of Al Ain Water and Al Foah, two of its key subsidiaries. The formalization of this green alliance with Yellow Door Energy, a renowned solar developer headquartered in the UAE, occurs through the execution of Letter of Award and subsequent signing of a solar lease agreement, which evidences Agthia’s dedication to sustainability.

مجموعة أغذية تؤكد من جديد التزامها بتعزيز الاستدامة
أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 27 نوفمبر 2023 – أعلنت اليوم مجموعة أغذية ش.م.ع، الشركة الرائدة في قطاع الأغذية والمشروبات بالمنطقة، ومقرها دولة الإمارات، عن مبادرتها للانتقال إلى استخدام الطاقة الشمسية، في خطوة مهمة نحو خفض البصمة الكربونية للمجموعة. تتضمن المبادرة إنشاء محطتين للطاقة الشمسية في مصانع الإنتاج التابعة لمياه العين والفوعة للتمور، وهما من أبرز وحدات الأعمال التابعة للمجموعة. وفي تأكيد على التزام مجموعة أغذية بتعزيز الاستدامة؛ تم إتمام التعاقد مع شركة “يلو دور إنرجي”، الرائدة في مجال الطاقة الشمسية.
ويتوقع أن توفر هذه المبادرة ما يقرب من 20% من استهلاك الطاقة للمصانع كل عام، مما يساهم في تحقيق نتائج الاستدامة وكفاءة التكلفة. و سيعمل المشروع على تقليل انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون،على مدى السنوات الـ 25 المقبلة، بمقدار 124 ألف طن من خلال ضمان توليد 287 ألف ميجاوات في الساعة من الطاقة النظيفة. ويؤدي هذا إلى تأثير بيئي يعادل إعادة تدوير 5.4 مليون كيس بلاستيكي أحادي الاستخدام، وزراعة 2.1 مليون شجرة على مدار عقد من الزمن، تقليل استهلاك 53 مليون لتر من البنزين.
يتضمن هذا التعاون بين مجموعة أغذية ويلو دور إنرجي إنشاء محطتين للطاقة الشمسية الكهروضوئية بقدرات تبلغ حوالي 5 ميجاوات في المصنعين. ومن المقرر أن تقوم مجموعة أغذية بدمج الطاقة المتجددة في عمليات التصنيع الخاصة بها، من خلال عقد استئجار طويل الأجل مع شركة يلو دور إنرجي.
