40 year old Emirati patient who lost most of his teeth and had significant jaw trauma following a car accident, received complete reconstructive surgery at Medcare Dentofaces Clinic
- The patient required a mix of advanced reconstructive surgery, bone rebuilding and 14 dental implants to restore facial appearance and functionality after losing his teeth and suffering severe jaw damage in an accident
Dubai, UAE – June 4, 2026:A 40-year-old Emirati, who faced challenges with eating, speaking, and even recognizing his own reflection after a tragic accident, has successfully regained his ability to eat, speak, smile and his confidence thanks to a full reconstruction of his mouth and jaw at MedcareDentofaces in Dubai.

In June 2024, Mr. Juma suffered severe facial injuries from the serious accident that resulted in fractures around his eye socket, upper jaw, and palate. Despite receiving emergency treatment at that moment, the lasting impact of the trauma has continued to influence almost every part of his daily life. He found it challenging to chew loss anderly, had difficulties with swallowing, experienced considerable weight loss, and observed significant alterations in his facial appearance due to severe bone loss in both his upper and lower jaws.
“After the accident, everything changed,” Juma remembers. “It was difficult for me to eat, and my way of speaking changed. It was painful to look at myself. I lost my confidence and realized how difficult everyday life could become.”
Over a year later, in July 2025, he sought out MedcareDentofaces. There, an interdisciplinary team of specialists created a highly specialized rehabilitation plan to restore both function and facial contours. The treatment was led by oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr Farzin Sarkarat and prosthodontist Dr Saman Fallahi Sichani. Together, they combined state-of-the-art reconstructive surgery, digital planning and implant treatment to rebuild Juma’s jaw and smile from scratch.
“This was an incredibly complex case,” Dr. Sarkarat explained. “The patient had not only lost his teeth but also the essential bone structure needed for basic oral function. Our task was to rebuild that foundation and help him regain the ability to eat, speak, and live normally again”.The treatment followed a completely digital approach, where the final layout of the patient’s teeth was mapped out even before the surgery began. Based on this detailed plan, personalized 3D surgical guides were designed to ensure precise implant placement and reconstruction. Bone grafting was carried out under general anaesthesia using the bone harvested from within the patient’s mouth to restore the damaged areas of the jaw, along with sinus lifting to boost the bone volume in the upper jaw.
A total of 14 dental implants were placed, eight in the upper jaw and six in the lower jaw, to support a full-mouth implant rehabilitation. Following the surgical phase, the patient immediately received temporary implant-supported teeth during the healing process before transitioning several months later to permanent ceramic restorations designed to provide long-term stability and a natural teeth alignment appearance.
When discussing the rehabilitation phase, Dr. Saman Fallahi emphasized, “In situations like this, it’s not just about restoring appearance. The patient needs to be able to eat comfortably, speak clearly, and most importantly regain their confidence in daily life. The final prosthetic rehabilitation was crafted to ensure it feels stable, functional, and as natural as possible, while also helping to restore facial balance after the trauma.”
Following the treatment, Mr. Juma has reported significant improvements in his ability to eat, speak, and carry out daily activities comfortably again.
Reflecting on his recovery, he said, “Being able to eat normally again and see my face restored has made a huge difference in my life. It gave me my self-confidence back and helped me feel like myself again after a very difficult period. It brought a smile on the face of my children which made me feel very happy. The MedcareDentofaces team gave me hope and changed my life. I visited many clinics and hospitals, but when I met the multidisciplinary team at MedcareDentofaces, they gave me confidence.
The case highlights how advances in digital dentistry, reconstructive surgery, and implant technology are transforming outcomes for patients with severe facial trauma enabling recoveries that were once considered impossible.
