On the eve of COP28 and with a joint investment of over 2.5 million AED

Tetra Pak and United Paper Mills announce next step in landmark agreement to revolutionise used beverage cartons recycling in the UAE

Dubai, UAE, 1 December 2023: Tetra Pak and Union Paper Mills (UPM) have entered the next stage of their partnership, marked by the signing of a ground-breaking AED 2,500,000 recycling agreement aimed at establishing a commercially viable collection and recycling value chain for used beverage cartons (UBC) in the UAE. A memorandum of understanding was signed in November last year and has paved the way for significant progress in identifying the technical and investment needs for the recycling of UBC in the UAE. Since the signing of the MoU, Tetra Pak and UPM have engaged in extensive collaboration, including technical assessments, recycling expert visits from abroad, numerous meetings, and industrial trials with carton packages collected from local dairy producers.

COP28, Expo City Dubai; December 1, 2023: In the presence of UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, King of Malaysia, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy powerhouse, has agreed an implementation roadmap to advance the development of 10GW of clean energy projects in Malaysia.

The implementation roadmap, signed with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to develop up to 10GW of renewable energy projects, including ground mounted, rooftop and floating solar power plants, onshore wind farms and battery energy storage systems, follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in October.

TOM KOHLER-CADMORE EYES ENGLAND CALL-UP WITH EXPLOSIVE ABU DHABI T10 SOJOURN

Abu Dhabi, 30th November 2023: After hammering an unbeaten 68 off 33 balls on the opening day of the 2023 edition of Abu Dhabi T10, Deccan Gladiators opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore admitted that he was surprised to see the swing on the surface at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. The English batter is quite used to playing in the UAE conditions, as he has displayed his skills across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah over the past couple of years in multiple leagues. But the cool winds and a patch of grass on the track made the conditions suitable for swing bowlers.

“They bowled very nice up top, it swung a bit more than I am used to it, especially out here. It was quite hard. It felt like when they bowled in too full, it was sticking on the surface. I found it little tricky to get used to that,” Tom said.
