International Day of Cooperatives 2022: Cooperatives are much more than just ‘retail’ outlets

This year’s theme is “Cooperatives build a better world.”

On the International Day of Cooperatives, which is celebrated on the first Saturday of July since 1923 by the International Cooperative Alliance, and which this year bears the slogan ‘Cooperatives build a better world’ Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department at the Union Coop, confirmed that cooperatives are not just retail outlets. It has unlimited societal contributions and has become one of the most important contributors to providing community services, pointing out that the International Day of Cooperatives, which falls this year on July 2, helps highlight the role of community cooperatives and what they have accomplished on the ground.
