• Zhejiang University PhD Students Undertake Research Internships at Gulf Medical University, Strengthening Global Academic Ties

Ajman, UAE – September 9, 2024 – A group of six female PhD students from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine (China) have successfully completed their research internships at the Gulf Medical University led Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine in the United Arab Emirates. The students’ summer 2024 internship provided a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technological platforms, including Affymetrix, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), confocal microscopy, liquid biopsy techniques, and zebra fish facilities. The program was instrumental in enriching their knowledge and practical skills in the field of translational cancer research, particularly in cancer immunobiology.

June 4, 2024, Ajman– Gulf Medical University (GMU), UAE’s leading private health professions institute with a 25-year-old legacy, has partnered with three of China’s premier medical universities: Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University, and Peking University Health Science Center. February 28, 2024, Ajman: One of the largest inter-university athletic events in the United Arab Emirates was hosted by Gulf Medical University, and it concluded with a grand awards ceremony. Known as the Gulf Medical University Sports Festival, it brings together more than 2,000 students from 21 universities located throughout the seven emirates each year. The event, which was organized by the Gulf Medical University Student Affairs Department, took place at Thumbay Ground & Quattro Ground for its 22nd edition, attracting an unprecedented number of participants and broke previous records for the most competitors in a week.
