Al Etihad Payments and Mastercard collaborate to launch “Jaywan – Mastercard” debit and prepaid cards in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, UAE; 12 March 2025: Al Etihad Payments (AEP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), which operates the UAE’s national card switch (UAESWITCH) and manages domestic card scheme “Jaywan”, and Mastercard have announced a strategic collaboration to launch “Jaywan – Mastercard” co-badged debit and prepaid cards in the UAE.

Jaywan-Mastercard debit and prepaid cards will enable cardholders to carry out secure, simpler, smarter and more accessible payment transactions, including e-commerce transactions, setting a new benchmark in the UAE’s payment landscape by combining innovative products and value-added services.

The company reported AED 4.92 billion (US$1.34 billion) in revenue, a 40% increase from AED 3.4 billion (US$ 925 million) in 2023, underscoring its rapid expansion and strategic market positioning.

UAE Athletes Secure Gold and Bronze Medals in snowboarding at Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025

Abdulla Al Nuaimi earned a gold medal, while Meena Al Mazrouei secured a bronze, marking a strong beginning for the UAE delegation at the inclusive global sports event.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – March 12, 2025 – The Special Olympics UAE delegation kicked off its participation in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 with impressive wins, as Emirati athletes showcased their exceptional snowboarding skills. Abdulla Al Nuaimi earned a gold medal, while Meena Al Mazrouei secured a bronze, marking a strong beginning for the UAE delegation at the Games.

This achievement highlights the athletes’ commitment and the intensive training they’ve undergone in preparation for the Games. With 11 players representing the UAE in the competition, the medals reflect the dedication and hard work put into their development over recent months.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of the UAE Special Olympics, said: “We are incredibly proud of Abdulla Al Nuaimi and Meena Al Mazrouei’s outstanding performances at this year’s Special Olympics World Winter Games. فريق الإمارات يبدأ مشوار التتويج في تورين 2025

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 12 مارس 2025: بدأ فريق الإمارات في تحقيق أولى انتصاراته على منصات التتويج في الألعاب العالمية الشتوية للأولمبياد الخاص – تورين 2025، حيث أظهر اللاعبون الإماراتيون مهارات استثنائية في رياضة التزلج اللوحي، فقد نجح عبدالله النعيمي مساء أمس في الفوز بالميدالية الذهبية، بينما أحرزت مينه المزروعي الميدالية البرونزية.

ويعد هذا الفوز المستحق بداية قوية لمشاركة بعثة الإمارات في الألعاب المكونة من 11 لاعب ولاعبة من ذوي التحديات الذهنية والنمائية، والتي ترعاها شركة مبادلة كراعي رسمي، كما يمثل إنجازاً يعكس التدريبات المتواصلة التي بذلها اللاعبون الإماراتيون في الاستعداد للمشاركة فيها على مدار الأشهر الماضية.

وفي تعليق له حول هذه الإنجازات، صرح سعادة طلال الهاشمي، المدير الوطني للأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي ورئيس بعثته إلى تورين، قائلاً: ” “فخورون بما حققه عبدالله النعيمي ومينه المزروعي من إنجازات رائعة في بداية مشاركتنا في الألعاب العالمية الشتوية، ونهدي هذا النجاح إلى قيادتنا الرشيدة الداعمة لأصحاب الهمم. هذه الميداليات هي ثمرة التزام وتفاني لاعبينا، الذين يمثلون الإمارات خير تمثيل في كل محفل دولي. نحن نؤمن بقدرتهم على تحقيق المزيد من النجاحات والميداليات، ولا يزال أمامهم الكثير ليحققوه في تورين”.

كما صرح محمد العتري، مدير العمليات والمشاريع العالمية للثلج في ماجد الفطيم: “إن فوز عبدالله ومينة بميداليات في دورة الألعاب العالمية الشتوية للأولمبياد الخاص – تورين- إيطاليا 2025 هو إنجاز عظيم يعكس جهودنا المستمرة في تطوير الرياضات الشتوية في الإمارات. وعلى الرغم من غياب الثلوج الطبيعية في الدولة، فإن إدارة  سكي دبي لعبت دورًا أساسيًا في تعزيز مهارة اللاعبين من خلال التدريب المتواصل والمكثف تحت إشراف مدربتهم المختصة في أكاديمية التزلج في سكي دبي، لينا رضا، التي كانت مصدر إلهام و دعم  لهم. إن  هذا التدريب المتواصل والدعم الكبير ساهم بشكل كبير على تعزيز الأداء والوصول إلى هذا المستوى العالي، مما جعل هذا الإنجاز و النجاح ممكنًا.”
