Young chefs go Greek at SIBF 2023
Starting off young, middle school kids gather at the Sharjah International Book Fair’s popular Cookery Corner to whip up healthy Greek delicacies

School children flocked eagerly to the Cookery Corner at the 42nd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), as the fresh aroma of Mussel Saganaki with feta and fennel by Greek chef Marianna Leivaditaki wafted through the halls of the fair.

أكد المؤرخ الكوري البروفيسور كيم هو، أن البيانات هي العامل الرئيسي للحفاظ على استمرار الدراسات التاريخية وتخيّل الماضي، مشيراً إلى أنه من الصعب تصوّر شكل الماضي دون وجود بيانات كافية.
وقال كيم هو خلال جلسة “تصوّر الأحداث التاريخية”، أقيمت ضمن فعاليات الدورة الـ 42 من معرض الشارقة الدولي للكتاب: “عندما كنت أستكمل دراساتي العليا أخبرني مستشاري بتجنب التخيل قدر الإمكان، لأنه سيتسبب في وقوعي بأخطاء إذا اعتمدت عليه فقط”، لافتاً إلى ضرورة فتح الباب للربط بين البيانات – ممثلة في النصوص- والسياق الثقافي.

DUBAI, UAE: 3 November 2023: Embracing unity, rich heritage and shared values, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), and Chairman of Dubai Airports, hoisted the UAE national flag commemorating UAE Flag Day on November 3.
The ceremony took place at Dubai International (DXB) Terminal 3 and was attended by a number of Dubai Airports’ senior leaders and employees, as well as representatives from key strategic partners, including DCAA, Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, dnata and the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

Literary exploration meets mindfulness as SIBF weaves yoga into the fabric of knowledge

Educational activities for both children and adults are integral to Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF)’s offerings every year, and this year the 12-day event is laying special emphasis on nurturing well rounded young leaders of tomorrow with a series of mindfulness activities. The SIBF 2023 Psychological Health workshops conducts a session on ‘Balance Yoga for Kids’ to equip young participants with the fundamental knowledge of meditative art.

“Ports, Customs and Free Zone” celebrates “Flag Day”
The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation celebrated Flag Day, which falls on November 3 of each year, in its various locations in the presence of executive directors, department heads and a group of employees from the Corporation and Dubai Customs, in response to the invitation of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President The Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, called for celebrating Flag Day at 10:00 am and raise it as a symbol of the state, sovereignty and unity.
