Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2 April, 2024: Carrefour, which Majid Al Futtaim owns the exclusive rights to operate in the UAE, has partnered with the Community Development Authority (CDA), on hosting a heartwarming orphans Iftar on International Day of Happiness at the Fountain Garden at Park Hyatt hotel, Dubai.

The event welcomed over 200 guests, including more than 120 children aged 4 and above, who enjoyed a warm Iftar, followed by entertainment and activities.

BIRMINGHAM SCIENTISTS WIN FUNDING TO DEVELOP “LOLLIPOPS” FOR MOUTH CANCER DIAGNOSIS

Prototype flavoured ‘lollipop’ could lead to earlier mouth cancer diagnosis
Birmingham scientists awarded £350,000 to develop promising research
Project hailed as “an exciting first step towards an entirely new way to identify mouth cancers”

A ‘LOLLIPOP’ that can diagnose mouth cancer early could become a reality, thanks to a pioneering project funded by Cancer Research UK and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Dr Ruchi Gupta at the University of Birmingham has been awarded £350,000 over the next three years by Cancer Research UK and EPSRC to make a prototype flavoured ‘lollipop’ from a material called a smart hydrogel.
