DUBAI, UAE (October 8, 2024) – Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and South Asia, announced today a plan to form and develop the first National Baseball Team in the history of the UAE. Baseball United received official sanctions from the Emirates Cricket Board to manage the UAE National Baseball Team and institute a corresponding development program for baseball in the nation. The Emirates Cricket Board is the governing body for bat and ball sports activities in the UAE.

Dubai, UAE, Oct. 07, 2024 – At Climate Week NYC, Hitachi Energy announced plans to invest an additional $155 million USD to expand its manufacturing capacity in North America. This includes the construction of a new distribution transformer factory in Reynosa, Mexico, and expansions to its transformer factory in South Boston, Virginia, and its high-voltage switchgear and breakers factory in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

استفتاء كازاخستان يؤيد إنشاء أول محطة للطاقة النووية بتكلفة 12 مليار دولار
أستانا – ألماتي “كازاخستان”: صوت الكازاخستانيون في استفتاء عام أمس الأول “الأحد” على بناء أول محطة للطاقة النووية في بلادهم التي تعتبر أكبر منتج لليورانيوم في العالم، بهدف زيادة إنتاج الطاقة بحلول عام 2035، ومن المقرر بناء المحطة بالقرب من قرية أولكين شبه المهجورة في السهوب الكازاخستانية على ضفاف بحيرة بلخاش، فيما تُقدر التكلفة الأولية للمحطة الجديدة وفقاً لوزارة الطاقة ما بين 10 مليارات و12 مليار دولار.
وأعلنت لجنة الانتخابات المركزية في كازاخستان، أن 71% من الناخبين صوتوا لصالح خطة الحكومة لإنشاء مفاعل نووي جديد، فيما بلغت نسبة المشاركة نحو 64%، وهي نسبة تتجاوز العتبة المطلوبة لاعتماد نتيجة الاستفتاء.
وقال رئيس لجنة الانتخابات المركزية نورلان عبديروف في مؤتمر صحفي عقد أمس: “حتى الساعة 8 صباحًا من يوم 7 أكتوبر، تم فرز الأصوات في 10323 مركز اقتراع في جميع مناطق البلاد وخارجها”، وكان إجمالي عدد المواطنين الكازاخستانيين المؤهلين للمشاركة في التصويت 12284487، ومن بين هؤلاء، أدلى 7820204 مواطن بأصواتهم، وهو ما يمثل نسبة إقبال على التصويت بلغت 63.66٪.
وأظهرت النتائج الأولية التي أصدرتها لجنة الانتخابات المركزية، أن نسبة المشاركة في استفتاء يوم الأحد بلغت 63%، حيث أجاب 71.12% من أصل 7.8 مليون شخص صوتوا بنعم على السؤال: “هل توافق على بناء محطة للطاقة النووية في كازاخستان؟”
