AUS and Al Akhawayn University partner to advance Arabic scholarship and ethical AI

Strategic partnership supports joint research, academic exchange and the development of global platforms for Arabic language, literature and pedagogy

Rabat, Morocco – April 17, 2025 – American University of Sharjah (AUS) and Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) marked a new chapter in international academic cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 16 at the Central Bank of Morocco in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS; and His Excellency Abdellatif Jouahri, Governor of Bank Al Maghrib and Chairman of the AUI Board of Trustees. The agreement establishes a collaborative framework focused on Arabic and Islamic studies, language pedagogy, digital humanities and emerging technologies—promoting cultural exchange, joint research and academic partnerships rooted in shared heritage and future-focused goals.

American University in Dubai launches bachelor’s degrees in artificial intelligence and gaming

Programs unveiled at Education for Employment Conference aim to build capacity in key sectors

April 16th, 2025, Dubai, UAE: The American University in Dubai (AUD) has announced the launch of two new programs aimed at building capacity in the UAE’s artificial intelligence (AI) and gaming sectors, to support the UAE’s ambitious plans for global leadership in the fields. The Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development and a new concentration in AI in Business were unveiled during the 2025 Education for Employment Conference, staged under the theme ‘Innovate & Play: Navigating the Future of AI & Gaming’.

Sharjah, UAE, April 14, 2025 – In a powerful show of community spirit and shared purpose, American University of Sharjah (AUS) hosted Get Active for Education on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the AUS campus. Held under the patronage and in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, the large-scale wellness and fundraising event marked the culmination of the university’s Pay It Forward campaign. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about supporting scholarships that benefit students with disabilities, financial or social challenges, and students from underserved backgrounds.
