Season 2 of the Global Chess League began with a bang as top players from around the world squared off on an electrifying opening day. In the first two matches, American Gambits and Alpine SG Pipers emerged as victors, setting the pace for the competition.

London, 03 October 2024: The packed venue at Friends House in London erupted in applause as players entered the playing hall, dressed in team jerseys in an atmosphere more akin to a football match than a chess tournament.

India/London, 11^thSeptember 2024: Arjun Erigaisi, the 21-year-old chess prodigy from Warangal, has been creating waves this year with a career-best ranking. He ascended to World No.4 in the FIDE world ratings in June this year after beating France’s Loic Travadon in the French Team Chess Championship 2024.

With the Chess Olympiad starting in Budapest this month and the much-awaited Tech Mahindra Global Chess League starting in London on 3rd October, Arjun exuded confidence and excitement as he prepares for a busy chess season.

The second season of the league will be held in London from 3^rd to 12^th October at the Friends House.
