Aafaq Islamic Finance PSC Partners with Dubai Land Department to Oversee Real Estate Escrow Accounts

Dubai, UAE – 8 July 2024

Aafaq Islamic Finance PSC has entered into a strategic partnership with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement designates Aafaq as an authorized financial institution to provide escrow services, joining a select group of accredited account trustees managing off-plan project funds for real estate developers in Dubai. This collaboration aims to support the UAE real estate market’s growth amid rising demand for homes.

These specialized escrow accounts are designed for real estate projects, holding funds collected from off-plan investors or project financiers. They ensure a smooth construction process and protect investors’ interests, thereby increasing trust in the real estate sector.

وقعت بن غاطي للتطوير العقاري، الشركة الرائدة في مجال العقارات في دبي، اتفاقية شراكة استراتيجية مع دائرة الأراضي والأملاك في دبي لدعم “برنامج دبي للوسيط العقاري” الهادف إلى تمكين الكوادر الإماراتية في القطاع العقاري.

وقد وقّع اتفاقيّة التحالف الاستراتيجي، سعادة المهندس مروان بن غليطة، المدير العام بالإنابة لدائرة الأراضي والأملاك في دبي، والمهندس محمد بن غاطي رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة بن غاطي للتطوير.

Dubai Land Department fines three developers AED 1.5 million for not complying with real estate escrow account regulations

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 02 June 2024: Dubai Land Department (DLD) has fined three developers in Dubai AED 500,000 each for promoting and marketing real estate projects without completing the required registration procedures for off-plan projects, in accordance with Law No. 8 of 2007 on Real Estate Development Escrow Accounts in Dubai.
