Trimble’s sustainability efforts gain momentum as 25 per cent of suppliers commit to Science-Based Targets, says report

November 20, 2023: Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB), a construction technology leader, highlighted a number of noteworthy achievements and initiatives in the company’s latest sustainability report, including the company’s role in getting 25 per cent of its suppliers to set Science-Based Targets in 2022. The significant accomplishment is consistent with their shared goal of lowering greenhouse gas emissions across the industry, particularly in the run-up to the highly anticipated COP 28 conference, which will focus on global climate action.

COP28 Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum to Bring Together Global Heads of State & Government along with Business CEOs and Philanthropists to Accelerate Progress on Climate Action and Industry Transition

·       The Forum will open on 30 November with a reception in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Majesty King Charles III.

·       ‘A Showcase Compendium of Collective Action’ for the Forum sets out initiatives and high-level outcomes underpinned by the COP28 Action Agenda.

·       Key initiatives include: a blended finance vehicle for climate projects in emerging markets and developing economies, a commercial nature fund linked to supply chains, a mechanism for market-based demand signals, and funding for Indigenous Peoples and organizations to protect and restore nature and biodiversity loss.

The DFSA adopts the UAE principles for the effective management of climate-related financial risks ahead of COP28

Dubai, UAE, 16 November, 2023: The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), a founding member of the UAE Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG), took a significant step by adopting, alongside other financial regulators of the UAE, the Principles for the effective management of climate-related financial risks (the Principles). This is the Middle East region’s first initiative of this nature. Last Thursday, the DFSA, together with other members of the SFWG, attended an official ceremony hosted by the Central Bank of the UAE to launch the Principles.
