UAE students set to design and program autonomous robots at FIRST® LEGO® League hosted by ATLAB

January 08, 2026: FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL), the leading EdTech competition, is set to bring together UAE school students for a month-long competition to design, build and program autonomous robots using LEGO bricks, scheduled from January 10, 2026, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Hosted by ATLAB, a subsidiary of Centena Group, in collaboration with its organisers, FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO® Education, the competition will provide hands-on learning experiences that apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts to real-world problem-solving skills, aligning with the UAE’s constant efforts to develop a future-ready workforce and expand investments in latest technological innovations.

ATLAB announces winners of ‘FIRST® LEGO® League,’ recognising UAE’s young innovators in robotics

  • A total of 42 teams across the Emirates participated in the Grand Finale.
  • Champion’s Winner Award – Team ACE from Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Science to compete in international-level competition at the World Festival – Houston, Texas.

The FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) 2024-25 season, hosted by ATLAB, a subsidiary of the Centena Group, in collaboration with FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO® Education, announced the national winners from across the UAE during the grand finale of the ‘CHALLENGE’ category on February 9, 2025. The awards recognised young innovators from 42 participating teams for their exceptional creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork in robotics and STEM.
