The Department of Civil Aviation, Sharjah hosts Annual Gathering, Honoring Outstanding Employees and Retirees for 2024

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, 27 February 2025: In line with the Department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing communication and fostering a positive work environment, the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah organized its annual meeting for the year 2025. The event was held at the Bait Elowal in the Al Mareija area of Sharjah, with the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department, alongside a number of Department officials and employees.

The Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah And Serco Renews the Air Navigation Services Contract

Serco has provided ANS at Sharjah Airport for over 75 years.

  • The renewed contract reinforces the commitment of the DCA and Serco to increase the Emirati representation in air traffic operational roles.

February 19, 2025: Sharjah, United Arab Emirates: The department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah and Serco has announced the renewal of its long-standing contract to provide Air Navigation Services (ANS) at Sharjah Airport. Since 1947, Serco has been the provider of ANS at Sharjah International Airport, consistently ensuring the safety and efficiency of air traffic operations. Under the agreement Serco is accountable for Sharjah’s Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) and Air Traffic Services (ATS). The contract extension underscores the enduring partnership between Serco and the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah while reaffirming their shared commitment to developing a highly skilled, Emirati-led air traffic workforce. Several initiatives are already in place to support this goal.
