Tech Mahindra Global Chess League: Triveni secure second title in spectacular fashion

Season one champions, Triveni Continental Kings, triumphed over the PBG Alaskan Knights in both final matches to secure their second title in the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League.

London, 12 October 2024: In two hard-fought, nerve-wracking games, Triveni stunned PBG with a 13-7 victory as Black in the first match and followed it up with a 9-7 win as White in the second. This victory earned Triveni the championship and the top prize of 500,000 US dollars.

Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, day nine: Defending champions Triveni reach finals after dramatic 9-7 victory over Sg Pipers

Defending champions Triveni Continental Kings secured a narrow 9-7 victory over Alpine Sg Pipers, clinching the last spot in the finals. They will face the PBG Alaskan Knights in the championship on Saturday.

London, 11 October 2024: Friday marked the final day of matches at the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, where two teams advanced to the finals. Despite three matches taking place, all eyes were on the decisive clash between second-placed Alpine Sg Pipers and Triveni Continental Kings, battling directly for the remaining spot in the finals. The Pipers entered with 18 match points and 81 game points, while Triveni had 15 match points but a higher game point tally of 90. A Triveni win would push them past the Pipers for the final spot.

2024 Baseball United Arab Classic Schedule Released

Nine teams from the Middle East and South Asia to compete in four-day tournament, including India vs Pakistan on Friday, November 8th

DUBAI, UAE (October 9, 2024) – Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and South Asia, announced the official schedule for the inaugural Baseball United Arab Classic national team tournament taking place Thursday, November 7th to Sunday, November 10th, at the new Baseball United Ballpark in Dubai. The new ballpark is located within The Sevens sports and entertainment complex, just minutes from the city center.

The competition will include the official national baseball teams from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Afghanistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, and the newly formed UAE national baseball team. This is the largest tournament of its kind in the history of the region.
