Desert Vipers seal historic first DP World ILT20 crown after 46-run victory over MI Emirates

Dubai, 5 January 2026: The Desert Vipers secured their maiden DP World ILT20 trophy after beating MI Emirates by 46 runs in front of a packed Dubai International Stadium on Sunday night. The Desert Vipers took home a cash prize of USD 700,000 along with the Black Belt, while MI Emirates were awarded USD 300,000.

Dubai, 1 January 2026: Abu Dhabi Knight Riders stayed in the hunt for the DP World ILT20 Season 4 title after sealing a 50-run win over the Dubai Capitals in the Eliminator at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday. After an impressive opening partnership between Michael Pepper and Phil Salt, the spin department of the Knight Riders ensured that the Capitals were unable to recover from their early blows.

Unbeaten 120 by Andries Gous puts Desert Vipers in the final after 45-run win over MI Emirates in Qualifier 1  

  • Gous became the first player from an Associate Nation to score a century in DP World ILT20 history, bringing up the first century of Season 4
  • Gous and Zaman put on the highest opening stand of 157 runs in the DP World ILT20, taking the Vipers to 233/1
  • Debutant Usman Tariq led the charge with the ball, bagging three crucial wickets to seal the win

Stakes rise as DP World ILT20 Season 4 enters the playoffs  

  • Desert Vipers will take on MI Emirates in the Qualifier 1 in Abu Dhabi on 30 December for a place in the final while Abu Dhabi Knight Riders take on defending champions Dubai Capitals in the Eliminator in Dubai on 1 January
  • The winner of the Eliminator will progress to Qualifier 2 in Sharjah to face the loser of Qualifier 1 for the second spot in the final

UAE Polo Federation Cup Tournament Fixture Announced at Live Draw at Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club with 8 teams

Dubai, UAE: The excitement for the upcoming polo season officially begins as the UAE Polo Federation announced the teams and match fixtures for the 2026 UAE Polo Federation Cup during a live draw held at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.

Recognised as one of the region’s most anticipated local polo tournaments, the UAE Polo Federation Cup will take place from 5th to 17th January 2026, bringing together eight elite teams to compete for the coveted title. This year’s tournament will feature UAE Polo, Noon Polo, Banghash Polo, Bhansali Polo, Jehangiri Polo, El Basha Polo, Equiti Polo and Bindrai Polomany of which are represented by prominent members of the polo community.
