Slow and Steady Takes the Win at Mushrif Mall’s Epic Slow Cycle Race

  • The Slow Cycle Race returns to Mushrif Mall from July 18-20 and July 25-27, 2025.
  • Compete to ride as slowly as possible without touching the ground.
  • Prizes include gift vouchers, with up to AED 19,000 for the winners.

Abu Dhabi – UAE: Following the success of its first season, the Slow Cycle Race is back for an exciting second edition at Mushrif Mall. In partnership with the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, this year’s event will take place from July 18 to 20 and July 25 to 27, 2025. This unique competition challenges participants to maintain balance and control by riding as slowly as possible without their feet touching the ground.

Building on the momentum of Season 1, the race is expected to attract even more participants and spectators. Open to everyone aged 15 and above, the event promotes balance, control, and patience, offering a fun alternative to traditional cycling races.

Dubai, 16 July 2025: The DP World International League T20 has teamed up with UAE based, non-profit organisation Gulf for Good, to support sustainable charity projects for children around the world. – and give the tournament’s Season 3 merchandise a new lease of life. Through the CSR partnership (Gulf for Good’s Outreach Programme), the DP World ILT20 has handed over more than 500 items for children in Madagascar as part of a wider mission aimed at supporting education and community development.

The programme will continue for the remainder of the year and in the longer run, more than 2000 children are expected to benefit from the DP World ILT20-Gulf for Good collaboration.

بالتعاون مع أندية أصحاب الهمم والمؤسسات الرياضية:

إطلاق “معسكر همة الصيفي للأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي” في الشارقة وعجمان

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 7 يوليو 2025: أعلن الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي عن إطلاق ” معسكر همة الصيفي للأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي” اعتبارا من 14 يوليو، بالتعاون مع أكاديمية جام الرياضية، وبالشراكة مع عدد من الأندية والمؤسسات في إمارتي الشارقة وعجمان، منها نادي الثقة للمعاقين، ومجلس الشارقة الرياضي، ضمن فعاليات البرنامج الصيفي للمجلس “صيف الشارقة الرياضي –عطلتنا غير”، ونادي عجمان لذوي الإعاقة، والبرنامج الصيفي لحكومة عجمان “صيفنا سعادة”.

يهدف المعسكر، الذي يمتد حتى منتصف أغسطس، لتوفير بيئة رياضية وتربوية داعمة ونشطة للاعبين من أصحاب الهمم خلال فصل الصيف، تُراعي احتياجاتهم وتدعم تطورهم البدني والاجتماعي.

وفي هذا السياق، صرح سعادة طلال الهاشمي، المدير الوطني للأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي: “يعكس معسكر همة الصيفي للأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي التزامنا بتوفير فرص نوعية للاعبين من أصحاب الهمم، تمكنهم من تطوير مهاراتهم في بيئة رياضية مناسبة تلبي احتياجاتهم. ويؤكد هذا المعسكر، الذي يعد ثمرة تعاون مشترك مع عدد من الأندية والجهات الوطنية، إيماننا العميق بأن نجاح البرامج المخصصة لأصحاب الهمم يعتمد على العمل الجماعي والتكامل بين مختلف المؤسسات. فالتناغم والتنسيق بين هذه الجهات يشكل قاعدة راسخة لإحداث تأثير إيجابي طويل الأمد في حياة اللاعبين، وتمكينهم على المستويين الرياضي والاجتماعي. وبهذه المناسبة، نتوجه بجزيل الشكر والتقدير إلى جميع الشركاء والداعمين على مساهماتهم القيمة في تنظيم وإعداد هذا المعسكر.”

Special Olympics UAE launches Summer Camp in Sharjah and Ajman

  • In collaboration with clubs for People of Determination and sports institutions, the Special Olympics UAE Summer Camp will run for 4 weeks from July 14

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – July 7, 2025: Special Olympics UAE has announced the launch of the Special Olympics UAE Summer Camp, which kicks off on July 14, in collaboration with Jam Sports Academy. The Special Olympics UAE Summer Camp is organized in partnership with Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled, the Sharjah Sports Council, as well as Ajman Club for the Disabled and Ajman Government’s summer program. The camp will run until mid-August and aims to provide a supportive and active educational and athletic environment for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the summer.

On this occasion, His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of Special Olympics UAE, said: “The Special Olympics UAE Summer Camp reflects our ongoing commitment to creating high-quality opportunities for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow and thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment. Developed in collaboration with People of Determination clubs and Government institutions, this initiative underscores the vital role of cross-sector collaboration in advancing impactful programs designed for People of Determination,”
