Dubai, October 6, 2025: The sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will run from December 1 to 23, 2025, featuring 24 days of action-packed T20 cricket — the longest season in the tournament’s history. The extended schedule is set to heighten competition among the five franchises and provide players with valuable match exposure ahead of a major cricketing year. Positioned as a key lead-up to the 2026 Cricket World Cup, this edition marks an important milestone in the league’s evolution since its inception.
This edition will feature 24 matches in total, including 20 league fixtures and 4 knockout games, spread across three premier venues – R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo; Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy; and Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Dambulla.
For the very first time, Indian cricketers are expected to join the action, their names will be reveled soon, adding a whole new level of excitement for fans across the region.
Vancouver, September 30, 2025: In a major boost to the Canada Super 60, former India cricketer Suresh Raina is set to take part in the tournament from October 8–13 at BC Place in Vancouver. Raina, known for his explosive batting and brilliant fielding, will represent the Toronto Sixers in the league. His participation is expected to draw big crowds and generate huge excitement among fans in Canada.
The left-handed batter will line up alongside big international names like Alex Hales, Jason Roy, and Andre Fletcher in the upcoming edition.
Speaking about his participation with the Toronto Sixers, Suresh Raina said, “I’m really excited to be part of the Canada Super 60. Since this is the inaugural edition, it already feels special and promises to be a top-class tournament. The Toronto Sixers have a well-balanced squad with some big international names, as well as Canadian Talent and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them and contributing to the team’s success.”
Andre Fletcher (MI Emirates, USD 260,000), Scott Currie (Dubai Capitals, USD 250,000) and Liam Dawson (Gulf Giants, USD 170,000) among the top signings at the DP World ILT20 Season 4 Player Auction.
UAE pacers were in top demand as Junaid Siddique fetched USD 170,000 with Sharjah Warriorz, Muhammad Rohid was secured by MI Emirates for USD 140,000 and Wasim Akram joined Warriorz for USD 55,000
Squads were required to secure a minimum of 19 and up to a maximum of 21 players, split as a minimum of 11 from Full Member nations, four from the UAE including one U-23 UAE player, one from Kuwait, one from Saudi Arabia, and two from other ICC Associate Nations. Two further Wildcard signings are permitted outside the auction as well.

Dubai, Oct 2, 2025: West Indies’ Andre Fletcher capped a day of high-stakes drama at the first-ever DP World ILT20 Player Auction, emerging as the most expensive player with a whopping price tag of USD 260,000. MI Emirates outbid rivals to secure the explosive batter for a fourth consecutive season with the franchise. Close behind was England’s Scott Currie, snapped up by Dubai Capitals for USD 250,000. England’s Liam Dawson led the pack amongst the pacers acquired for USD 170,000 by Gulf Giants while Naveen-ul-Haq was acquired for USD 100,000 by the MI Emirates.

Muhammad Rohid also drew a six-figure deal, going to MI Emirates for USD 140,000 (Right-to-Match), marking a massive milestone for UAE cricket.
