Dubai, November 1, 2023: Joy Alukkas, the visionary leader and iconic entrepreneur behind the global Joyalukkas Group, is set to unveil his much-awaited autobiography, titled ‘Spreading Joy – How Joyalukkas Became the World’s Favorite Jeweller’. This compelling narrative is set for unveiling on November 5, 2023, at 5.00pm at the Sharjah International Book Fair. Indian Film Star Kajol Devgan, the Global Brand Ambassador of Joyalukkas, will be the Guest of Honor at the event.

Antares Publishing and Raya Agency celebrated in 2nd Sharjah Rights Connection Award

Global award serves as an effort to support rights professionals and foster industry growth

The winners of the second edition of the Sharjah Rights Connection Award were announced during a ceremony at the 13th Publishers Conference, recognising the invaluable contributions of publishing rights professionals striving to make an impact in the industry.

HE Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), accompanied by Mansour Al Hassani, Director of Publishers Services Department presented the awards for the two categories. Elina Harutyunyan, Head of Publishing at Antares Publishing in Armenia, was presented the award in the individual professionals selling translation rights in publishing houses category. Her tireless efforts to expand the reach of literature to international audiences and dedication to the translation movement has significantly enriched the global literary landscape by bringing Indian voices and narratives to readers around the world.

In her impactful words, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), underscored that publishing stands at the gates of history, and has to reclaim the vital role it has played for centuries. “In our pursuit of progress, it is essential that we remain committed to our core belief in the power of the written word, and the role it plays in bringing us together, or dividing us. To continue delivering on our promise, the publishing industry has to adapt to the rapid changes of our time. We are at a unique intersection of tradition and innovation, and must navigate this exciting landscape of constant disruption,” she remarked.

في 29 أكتوبر 2023/ أكد صاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم الشارقة، الرئيس الأعلى لمجمع اللغة العربية بالشارقة، أن الإمارة ماضيةُ في جهود دعم ونشر وتعليم وتدريس اللغة العربية في مختلف أنحاء العالم، وحفظها من الزوال، مشيراً سموه إلى تتابع المشروعات الخاصة بها مثل المعجم التاريخي للغة العربية الذي يتضمن تاريخ اللغة ومن تداولوها مما يثري من معرفة وثقافة المتعلم والمتحدث والدارس للغة العربية.

جاء ذلك خلال حضور سموه انطلاق فعاليات مؤتمر الشارقة الدولي الأول لدراسات اللغة العربية في أوروبا، صباح اليوم الأحد، والذي ينظمه مجمع اللغة العربية بالشارقة، تحت شعار “الدراسات العربية في أوروبا: واقعٌ وآفاق”، وذلك في دارة الدكتور سلطان القاسمي، بمشاركة كبيرة من العلماء والمستشرقين والمستعربين من الدول الأوروبية المختلفة.
