Rooted in the idea of the desert mirage, where illusion meets reality—Sarab captures the interplay of memory, architecture, and beauty that defines Arab heritage. Each title blends evocative photography with thoughtful narrative to create immersive large-format publications that invite readers to experience the region’s history and aesthetics from a contemporary lens.

Bodour Al Qasimi honours the winners of the SIBF 2025 Award

Sharjah, November 6, 2025,

Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority, honoured the winners of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair Awards (SIBF 2025) in a special ceremony held during the opening day on Wednesday, in the presence of H.E. Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority.

SIBF 2025, taking place at Expo Centre Sharjah, under the theme “Between You and a Book”, and runs until November 16, saw a substantial increase in submissions, with 2,076 entries received. These included 184 from Emirati writers, 1,339 from Arab, 454 international, and 99 submissions for the Turjuman Award.

Baroque beats and French flair light up SIBF 2025 on opening day

Lille street-theatre troupe Moz Drums brings 18th-century elegance and modern rhythm to the UAE’s biggest cultural stage

The rhythms of 18th-century Europe met the pulse of the modern Gulf as Moz Drums – a French Baroque-inspired street theatre troupe – brought a burst of music, light and some comedy on the opening day of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 (SIBF).

Dressed like 18th century noblemen in white tricorne hats and painted faces for a perfect masquerade party, the quartet of Rémy, Lucien, David, and Antony marched through the halls and lobbies of the Sharjah Expo Centre, venue of the 12-day annual festival – beating drums to a mix of contemporary rhythms and Baroque melodies inspired by the famous artistic style that originated in Europe in the early 17th century and lasted until the mid-18th century.
