At the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), storytelling took centre stage during a session titled Preserving Culture and Heritage through Storytelling, where authors highlighted literature’s role as a bridge between generations and a force for social cohesion.

Moderated by Mehnaz Anshah, founder of Uhibbook Publishing, the panel brought together Dr Ahmed Khoori, Bashayer Al Issa, and Shazia Khan, who shared how storytelling sustains the UAE’s cultural identity and fosters belonging.

A BOOK HAS JUST BEEN BORN ABOUT THE WORLD -RENOWNED SHARJAH INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR “AKSHARAKKADALILE VELIYETTAM” (THE HIGH TIDE IN THE SEA OF LETTERS)

This book, written with more depth and seriousness than mere curiosity, is authored by Sreejish Sarada Sreekantan Nair, a news presenter with Dubai Vartha.

The release of the book took place on the opening day of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, on November 5th at 7 PM, at the Sharjah Expo Center Hall number 7‘s Writers’ Forum. The book was officially launched by Deepa Ganesh, General Manager of Dubai Vartha, who handed a copy to young singer Ravishankar.

Nissar Sayed, Chief Editor of Dubai Vartha, delivered the keynote address.
Writer K.P. Sudheera, M.C.A. Nasser (Head of Editorial and Middle East Operations, Media One), Punnakkan Muhammed Ali, Ahmed Shareef, K.V. Shamsudheen, Shaji Narikkolli, M.A. Shahnaaz, Anoop Keecheri, Aamina Nissar, and others extended their felicitations.

Speaking to moderator Abdul Karim Hanif in front of a full audience, Adichie said stories shape identity, challenge power and give new generations the courage to imagine better futures.
