Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), has announced that the fourth International Booksellers Conference will be held on April 7–8 at Expo Centre Sharjah. The first event of its kind globally will unite 575 leading booksellers, publishers, and distributors from 92 countries to discuss key industry issues, strengthen partnerships, explore business opportunities, and exchange insights.

The conference aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange while exploring new opportunities in book distribution and developing innovative strategies for global market growth. The festival at Expo Centre Sharjah will showcase a diverse range of the latest works for children and young adults, alongside a packed agenda of interactive activities, theatrical and artistic performances, as well as educational and entertainment events over 12 days.

Framed paper dresses workshop inspires young designersat SIBF 2024 through creativity and sustainability

Sharjah International Book Fair delights with workshops celebrating sustainability, creativity and innovation

The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) once again proved its allure, attracting visitors of all ages and backgrounds from the UAE and the wider GCC. Among its vibrant offerings, the “Framed Paper Dresses Workshop” stood out, sparking creativity and sustainability lessons in children aged nine and above.

Travelling from Oman for the event, 14-year-old Alnawar Alansari expressed her enthusiasm: “I enjoy designing dresses. Maybe one day, I’ll pursue it as a career.” Spending two days immersed in the festival, she shared her gratitude before heading back home, her designs a testament to her imagination.
