Living with arthritis or autoimmune conditions is a daily challenge that affects people of all ages and life stages. This year, the Middle East Arthritis Foundation (MEAF) will host World Arthritis Day on October 11, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. The spotlight is on empowering patients and their families while highlighting the distinct experiences of women, including those navigating fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care.

With the theme “Arthritis Matters: Empowering Lives, Building Stronger Communities”, MEAF aims to highlight the silent struggles of all those living with arthritis and related autoimmune conditions, while drawing special attention to women balancing chronic illness with milestones such as pregnancy and motherhood. The full-day program will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, offering patients, caregivers, and the wider community an opportunity to hear these personal stories while also engaging with healthcare experts on treatment, nutrition, fitness, and mental health.

At the event, participants will have a chance to listen to conversations between young mothers and their rheumatologists and attend a mental-health seminar such as “Not All Pain is Visible.” The program will also feature activities like Yoga for Arthritis, and gentle exercise classes to promote mobility, interactive tai chi demonstrations for safe joint care, a dance session for joint health and sessions on fertility-friendly and anti-inflammatory nutrition.
