Standing Up to Arthritis: MEAF’s World Arthritis Day Brings Patients and Experts Together

The event brought together patients, families, and healthcare experts for a day of education, wellness activities, and community engagement, helping those living with arthritis manage it more effectively.

Dubai, UAE – 13 October 2025 – The Middle East Arthritis Foundation (MEAF), a non-profit dedicated to promoting health and hope, successfully hosted its World Arthritis Day (WAD) event today at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. Under this year’s theme, “Arthritis Matters: Empowering Lives, Building Stronger Communities,” the event drew over 200 patients, caregivers, and community members, providing a platform to raise awareness about arthritis, encourage early diagnosis, and build stronger support networks.

Hotpack runs triple health checkup programmes for employees across the UAE  

Dubai, UAE – October 10, 2025: Hotpack, the UAE-based global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has recently conducted a series of health checkup initiatives for its employees across the UAE, reinforcing the company’s commitment to workplace wellbeing and preventive healthcare. The wellness programmes included a complementary ‘Annual Health Check-Up’, ‘Heart Checkup’ on ‘World Heart Day’ and ‘Eye Checkup’ for its workforce in multiple units.

Over 500 employees participated in the annual health checkup conducted at the facilities of Hotpack in Dubai and Umm Al Quwain, in collaboration with Life Pharmacy and Amina Hospital, in the respective emirates. The programme offered the participating employees a range of basic screening tests, including blood pressure, blood sugar, dental examinations, and GP consultations.

Dubai, UAE — October 9, 2025: H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, honored a select group of the UAE’s healthcare pioneers who won at “Health Awards 2025,” during a ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai that drew a large turnout of professionals, policymakers, and innovators. The ceremony recognized 78 healthcare professionals across 60 competitive categories spanning patient care, scientific research, education, technology, and community impact, with more than 700 healthcare professionals in attendance. The event was also attended by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and Publisher of Health Magazine.
