Dubai, UAE – Nov 19 – Symbiosis International University (SIU), one of India’s most prestigious educational institutions, proudly held the formal inauguration of its first international campus, in Dubai.

This milestone event took place at the Hilton Hotel in Dubai, graced by two esteemed leaders: His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs. Set against the backdrop of Dubai’s thriving educational landscape, the event became a historic occasion attended by a distinguished gathering of UAE-based consul generals, prominent industrialists, leading media personalities, and over 1,000 Symbiosis alumni in leadership roles across UAE. The grand event was held at the prestigious Hilton, where His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan and the Honorable Dr. Jaishankar joined other dignitaries to mark the formal opening.

AUS Giving Day unites the university in a powerful display of campus-wide solidarity

Sharjah, UAE, November 17, 2024 – On November 12–13, 2024, American University of Sharjah (AUS) hosted its 48 Hours of Impact Giving Campaign, with strong support from Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS. Sheikha Bodour played an active role in the event, which was organized by AUS’ Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs to support AUS students with disabilities, those facing financial and social challenges within their communities, and students from underserved backgrounds.

RIT Dubai team develops communication technology for verbally impaired patients

Solution uses brain signals and eye movements to articulate thoughts through an avatar

November 13,2024 Dubai, UAE: A graduation project developed by a team from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) of Dubai has delivered an innovative solution to help verbally impaired patients to communicate through an avatar-based artificial intelligence model. The project is the work of Emirati electrical engineering graduate, Abdallah Al-Serkal and classmate Ahmad Yousef who spent two years developing and refining the technology during their undergraduate degree studies.
