Canadian University Dubai launches Master of Public Health program

New graduate degree to develop public health leaders and increase capacity in the sector

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has launched an innovative new graduate program in public health to advance public health professionals’ careers and boost human capital in the sector. The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree builds on the university’s existing partnerships with global organisations to reduce the worldwide deficit in public health workers.

The first intake will be in the Spring 2025 semester, offering opportunities both for recent graduates to transition into the public health field and for current working professionals to advance into leadership positions in the industry.

4th December 2024; Dubai, UAE – British Orchard Nursery, a leader in early childhood education, has partnered with Dubai Public Prosecution to open a new branch at their premises, providing high-quality care and education to the children of their employees. His Excellency Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, the Attorney General of Dubai, officially inaugurated the nursery in the presence of senior members of the Dubai Public Prosecution staff and the management of the British Orchard Nursery chain.

American University in Dubai launches Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence

Academia and industry unite to promote AI education, research, and practice

27 November 2024, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The American University in Dubai (AUD) has announced a groundbreaking Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (M.S.A.I.) program. The new program positions the university at the forefront of AI innovation and education in the region. Designed to deepen the expertise of the region’s professionals in AI while driving economic progress across industries, the M.S.A.I. program will equip students with the skills to tackle real-world challenges in healthcare, finance, energy, and other sectors. Courses begin January 13, 2025 and the program is accepting applications now.

The launch event brought together leading academics and industry experts, who explored how AI education and research are reshaping business practices and unlocking new opportunities for growth and transformation. Dr. Kyle Long, President of AUD,opened the event by reflecting on the university’s role in promoting Al education through the M.S.A.I. program. Dr. Long said, “The history of AUD is a tale of continuous innovation for societal benefit. So, we are uniquely situated to contribute to the UAE’s AI aspirations. We’re going to do that by cultivating the talent, the research, and the partnerships necessary for this country to be the global leader in the new era already upon us, the age of AI.” He added, “The M.S.A.I. program is our invitation to students, scholars, and industry leaders the world over to join us in exploring the boundless possibilities of AI, to push the boundaries of what we know, and to imagine what could be.”

Students totaling up to the tune of 207from College of Medicine, 78 belonging to College of Dentistry, 47 from the Pharmacy, 151 from the College of Health Sciences, 50 from the College of Nursing and 28 from the Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare were conferred this year.
