The School of Architecture and Interior Design at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has taken centre stage at the Chinese Culture Festival, transporting design innovation from Dubai City Walk to the global catwalk. As a member of the Silk Road Universities Network (SUN) and at the invitation of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, CUD joined participants to explore themes reflecting diverse cultural contexts through fashion design, engaging alongside creative institutions and cultural communities from over 30 countries and regions. In collaboration with international artist Charlie Koolhaas, CUD faculty developed a series of garments that build upon Koolhaas’s ongoing Foto-Couture project. The designs transformed elements of the built environment into wearable archives, with two outfits serving as the creative medium for the Belt & Road Fashion Gala, staged in Hong Kong.

UAE students set to design and program autonomous robots at FIRST® LEGO® League hosted by ATLAB

January 08, 2026: FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL), the leading EdTech competition, is set to bring together UAE school students for a month-long competition to design, build and program autonomous robots using LEGO bricks, scheduled from January 10, 2026, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Hosted by ATLAB, a subsidiary of Centena Group, in collaboration with its organisers, FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO® Education, the competition will provide hands-on learning experiences that apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts to real-world problem-solving skills, aligning with the UAE’s constant efforts to develop a future-ready workforce and expand investments in latest technological innovations.

BITS Pilani Dubai Campus Concludes Young Entrepreneurs’ Bootcamp 2025, Training School Students in Structured Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Dubai, UAE: The 11th edition of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Bootcamp (YEB) 2025, organised by BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, concluded after five days of intensive academic engagement, offering high school students a rigorous introduction to startup thinking grounded in structured analysis, technology, and industry-aligned problem solving.

Designed for students from Grades 9 to 12, YEB 2025 moved beyond introductory exposure by adopting a framework-based approach that guided participants through the complete venture creation journey. Students progressed from identifying pressing challenges to developing validated business models, understanding revenue mechanisms, assessing financial feasibility, and delivering investor-style pitches with clarity and confidence.
