Latifa bint Mohammed honours General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai

Dubai, UAE, 2 July 2024:Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture),honoured Lieutenant General Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA), during a visit to the Authority’s headquarters in Dubai Design District (d3).

This recognition was in appreciation of his contributions and efforts in supporting Dubai Culture’s submissions for the Dubai Government Excellence Program. GDRFA’s support helped enhance the Authority’s competitiveness, elevate it to the excellence category in the program, and strengthen its position among Dubai’s government entities.

Emirates welcomes 101-year-old centenarian Rachida Smati onboard

Dubai, UAE 1 July 2024: Emirates recently welcomed 101 year old centenarian and seasoned traveller Rachida Smati onboard its flight to Algiers this past weekend.

To show its appreciation to the well-travelled customer and ensure she has the most comfortable travel experience possible, the airline extended a First-Class upgrade for Rachida. She was also greeted by a dedicated team ensuring she was fast-tracked through the airport before heading to the First-Class lounge for a relaxing experience ahead of boarding her flight.

Rachida, an Algerian national, flew to Algiers with Emirates after visiting friends and family in Dubai. Her third visit to the city, Rachida counts it as one of her favourite destinations for its accessibility, high standards of medical care and vibrant attractions. Rachida plans to become a repeat visitor with Emirates as her preferred airline.

Dubai, UAE –1stJuly 2024:“DIHAD+ Rome,” a distinguished global initiative dedicated to advancing humanitarian aid and development, was hosted by Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, renowned globally for its academic excellence.

This event attracted top professionals and experts and was held under the theme “International Relations: The Positive Global Citizen Concept.” It highlighted the importance of the role of individuals and communities in fostering a more interconnected world and how positive actions at the local level can ripple out to create meaningful positive change on a global scale. 

The event started with an opening speech by H.E. Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation and Chairman of DISAB; PAM Roving Ambassador for the GCC Region, followed by a welcome speech from Prof. Raffaele Marchetti, Deputy Rector for Internationalization at Luiss University.
