ITF J100 Fujairah Tournament Concludes with Thrilling Performances

FUJAIRAH: The ITF World Tennis Tour J100 Fujairah tournament concluded this week with a series of high-quality performances, underlining the event’s growing stature on the international junior tennis calendar. Staged in Fujairah from 5 January 2026, the tournament brought together some of the world’s most promising young players, competing across boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles categories.

In the Boys’ Singles (BS18) draw, France’s Gabriel Jalouneix produced a composed and confident display throughout the week to secure the title. Seeded eighth, Jalouneix navigated a competitive field before delivering a polished performance in the final, where he defeated Great Britain’s Ollie Knight in straight sets. His tactical discipline and consistency under pressure proved decisive as he claimed a well-earned championship.

The Girls’ Singles (GS18) title was claimed by Turkey’s Ada Kumru, the tournament’s top seed, who lived up to expectations with a dominant run. Kumru showcased control and maturity beyond her years, culminating in a convincing final victory over China’s Fangyu Shang. Her performance reinforced her status as one of the standout players on the junior circuit.

The doubles competitions were equally compelling. In the Boys’ Doubles event, Canada’s Caden Colburne and Andy Tchinda Kepche demonstrated strong chemistry and resilience to emerge as champions after a hard-fought final. The Girls’ Doubles title was secured by China’s Murong Wu and Chenming Zhang, whose cohesive teamwork and tactical awareness carried them through a challenging draw.

The tournament featured players from more than 30 countries, including UAE wildcards, reflecting both the international appeal of the event and Fujairah’s growing reputation as a destination for competitive tennis. The competition was conducted under the supervision of ITF official Mohsen Khodaparast and met all International Tennis Federation standards.

The successful conclusion of the ITF J100 Fujairah tournament further strengthens the United Arab Emirates’ position as a key supporter of junior tennis development, providing a valuable platform for emerging talent to gain international exposure and competitive experience.
