provides every visitor a unique opportunity to express thoughts and aspirations in total privacy

Sharjah, November 7, 2025
“I wish I could get a PS5,” scribbled a schoolboy on the interactive storyboard that is a distinct element of the social media station at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair at Expo Centre Sharjah. From cryptic notes about their school or favourite teacher to longer ones about why they love coming to SIBF, visitors including schoolchildren are making a beeline for the “Ink your thoughts” video booth where they can write their thoughts in complete privacy.
“Many visitors have vouched that this is the most interactive activity at SIBF 2025,” said Mohammad Walid Khan, facilitator of the activation. “Ink your thoughts” activation goes well with SIBF 2025 theme ‘Between you and the book’; it is an activity that invites people to write their thoughts when they read a book, for example. It may sound small but it makes a big difference when you express your feelings from your heart on an interactive blackboard and get a recording of it sent to you on WhatsApp,” he added.
Visitors have to register themselves using the QR code outside the studio before they go behind the black curtain to write whatever they fancy using a chalk marker. “It can be something about books, literature or your own story, anything between you and the world. The video captures you writing on the board,” concluded Khan.
The managing company of the booth noted that the booth saw as many as 40 visitors in the first half of the debut of SIBF 2025. “Some write about school, their future or anything that comes to their mind, ” she added. The interactive booth aligns with the theme of influence and social media’s role in modern-day creative expressions. With social media influence increasingly becoming significant, it is not surprising that one of the most attention-grabbing pavilions at SIBF 2025 is the social media station, dressed in bold letters in black and white like the pages of a book.
Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 is a 12-day event, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA). Visitors will get the opportunity to experience more than 300 cultural events led by 158 Arab and international guests, 750+ workshops in Arabic and English covering writing, editing, publishing, and creativity and 85 stage performances from 12 countries.
