February 03,2025: Dubai, UAE: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) graduate, Mohammed Al Hakim has been appointed President of UAE Operations at Crypto.com, becoming the first GCC and Emirati national to take on this prestigious position in the cryptocurrency industry.

Renowned as an outstanding leader with a distinguished career in government organizations, Al Hakim is now preparing to spearhead the transformation of the region’s financial landscape. By demystifying the world of cryptocurrency, he aims to secure the UAE’s position as a global hub for the sector.

With over 120 student nationalities, CUD  is ranked the #1 university in Dubai according to the QS World University Rankings 2025

Returning to the UAE from studies in Australia, Al Hakim enrolled in CUD in 2010 to complete his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, specializing in finance and marketing. He now recognizes his time at the university as a launchpad for his professional journey. Al Hakim explained, “Blockchain and cryptocurrency were not on my agenda at that time, but when it comes to raising funds, entering the world of finance, and working on business development, my journey did start at CUD. The university helped me recognize my talent for securing sponsorship. We hosted CUD’s first UAE National Day celebrations on campus with the support of sponsorship I was able to secure.”

  • “Opening the bowling with Mark, we had to get us off to a good start. Our bowling group prides itself on diversity. Left arm, right arm, tall and short, we have a bit of everything. We’re glad that we’ve at least given ourselves a fighting chance. We’ll be crossing our fingers for the next couple of days,” said Daniel Worrall, the Player of the match.

Sharjah Warriorz storm into playoffs as Kohler-Cadmore shines in eight-wicket win against MI Emirates

  • Tom Kohler-Cadmore smashed 91 runs in 52 balls to help Sharjah Warriorz chase 173 in 17.2 overs.
  • Player of the Match, Tom Kohler-Cadmore said: “We’ve been playing for three years, and we haven’t been to the finals, that was the goal going into this season. Tim Southee bowled well and set it up today. I just want to put the pressure back on them, sometimes they’ll get the better of me, but I tend to do well if I get a start, and I had some luck as well. Wade played some fine shots and eased us home. We’ve had a great group; the boys have been together even when we lost heavily.”

Abu Dhabi, February 02 2025: Sharjah Warriorz completed a sensational comeback in the tournament as they became the third team to seal a spot in the playoffs at the DP World ILT20 Season 3. Buoyed by a stellar knock from Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the Warriorz defeated the MI Emirates by eight wickets in a must-win match, here at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The result also knocks the Gulf Giants out of the race for a playoff berth, while the Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders are in contention for the fourth spot.
