Love batting with ‘Special Talent’ Gurbaz: Fraser-McGurk after Dubai Capitals’ victory over MI Emirates

Dubai, 21st January 2024: The Dubai Capitals started their season 2 of the DP World ILT20 with a bang as their star batters Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jake Fraser-McGurk helped chase down MI Emirates’ 160 runs with 24 balls to spare at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, January 20.

Speaking after the match, young debutant Fraser-McGurk was all praise for Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who anchored the batting for his team to the very end.

الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي يوقع مذكرة تفاهم مع شركة ماجد الفطيم للترفيه

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة – 21 يناير 2024: وقع اليوم الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي مذكرة تفاهم مع شركة ماجد الفطيم للترفيه ذ.م.م، إحدى شركات مجموعة الفطيم. تهدف مذكرة تفاهم إلى تعزيز التعاون بين الطرفين لتمكين اللاعبين من أصحاب الهمم  من لاعبي الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي، من خلال توفير فرص التدريب والمنافسات الرياضية المتخصصة لهم في قطاع الرياضات الشتوية على مدار العام، استعدادًا لمشاركتهم في الألعاب العالمية الشتوية للأولمبياد الخاص الدولي، إيطاليا 2025.

وبموجب المذكرة؛ ستقوم شركة ماجد الفطيم للترفيه باستضافة الجلسات والفعاليات الرياضية المختلفة بالتعاون مع الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي، وذلك في كل من “سكي دبي”،                         و “سنو أبوظبي” الوجهة الرياضية التابعة للفطيم في العاصمة. كما سيتولى المدربون في شركة ماجد الفطيم للترفيه بعمليات تدريب لاعبي الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي، وتم اختيار عدد من الرياضات الشتوية لتدريب اللاعبين عليها ومنها، التزلج للمسافات الطويلة (التزلج الريفي)، والتزلج على المنحدرات، والتزلج بلوح الثلج.

Special Olympics UAE signs a memorandum of understanding with Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment

  • The MOU supports Special Olympics UAE Athletes’ preparations for the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – January 21, 2024: Today, Special Olympics UAE signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment. The MOU aims to strengthen collaboration through offering Special Olympics UAE athletes and People of Determination with intellectual and developmental disabilities year-round training and opportunities to participate in winter sports competitions in preparation for the upcoming Special Olympics Winter Games, which will be held in Italy in 2025.

In line with the MoU, Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment will host sports sessions and events in partnership with Special Olympics UAE at Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort, and Snow Abu Dhabi, Majid Al Futtaim’s indoor snow park in the capital. Ski Dubai’s expert instructors will train UAE Special Olympics athletes in selected winter sports, including cross-country skiing, ice skating, and snowboarding.
