H.E. Abdullah Al Falasi opens 22nd edition of Ru’ya, Careers UAE Redefined to empower Emirati youth
Day one connects thousands of job seekers with industry leaders, through a series of inspiring talks, invaluable career advice and job opportunities from more than 100 leading companies

19 September 2023 – Dubai, UAE: H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of Dubai Government Human Resources Department, Vice Chairman of Emirati Human Resources Development Council, today opened the much-anticipated 22nd edition of Ru’ya, Careers UAE Redefined at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The leading recruitment, skills development and networking forum for UAE Nationals highlighted a diverse range of employment opportunities, as well as inspiring initiatives to support the next generation of job seekers.
Held in halls 1, 2, 3 and 4, day one of the event saw thousands of young Emiratis connect with an elite portfolio of more than 100 leading companies, including the event’s platinum sponsor Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Chalhoub Group, Deloitte, Dubai Government Human Resources Department, and Nestlé.
In addition to mentoring, candidate interviews and CV guidance at exhibitor stands, the event’s powerful agenda included a range of exclusive sessions for job seekers, from interactive workshops and competitions to impactful talks and live performances.
The ‘LinkedIn Hub’ offered one-to-one and group consultancy on how to build a professional presence on LinkedIn, advice on the best skills to acquire when looking for jobs and interview tips. Meanwhile, day one saw the launch of the ‘Next Founder’ initiative, run by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the UAE’s first crowdfunding platform, DubaiNext, where 11 teams made up of 30 young entrepreneurs received information and guidance to help craft sustainable business ideas which they will prepare to pitch on day three for the chance to win cash prizes and turn their visions into reality.
Visitors also had the opportunity to hear extraordinary talks and watch live performances by Emirati game-changers on the event’s stage. Gifted painter Mira Al Ghfeli demonstrated her talents through a live painting performance, and talented musician Shamsa Aljasmi played on the traditional oud.

Days two and three of the event from 20 – 21 September will feature more interactive sessions, job opportunities and inspiring talks for UAE Nationals looking to find employment, empowerment, and inspiration. Tomorrow, visitors will have the opportunity to watch an ‘Empower Her’ panel, ‘Elevate your Career with Leaders Insight’, with Sonia AlMarzooqi, an advisor to a multimillion-dollar pharma company and multiple startups, and Badreya AlMehairi, Associate Vice President Senior Manager – Data Privacy-Information Security at Mashreq Bank, as well as hear how Dubai Police K9 team keep the city safe on the event’s stage.
