‘Euphoria’ by Rima Chahine is transcendental in use of colour

DUBAI: Rima Chahine, the Canadian award-winning artist based in Dubai with an enviable international portfolio of art, will be showing her abstract artworks from November 27 to December 10 at The Warehouse, Dubai (@The.Warehouse.ae). It will her third solo exhibition in Dubai and is titled ‘Euphoria’.

It is part of the latest collection from the prolific artist, whose previous shows in the UAE have been sell-out successes. Her signature pieces, with their bold yet harmonious strokes of colour, have been the collector’s pride and enjoy enviable display spots in various homes and offices around the world.

Rima has been striving to understand her world and the world we live in and her art, which manifests her discoveries, unveils the spirit in which she found her subjects. In ‘Euphoria’, the sweep of colours takes everyone and everything in its current: the viewer is left with feelings of exaltation, elation and joyousness. ‘Euphoria’ is a part-ironical, part-prescriptive, title.

FIA TO STEER CHANGE AT COP28 WITH SMART DRIVING CHALLENGE

Dubai, 23 November 2023- The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) is giving drivers around the world the chance to make their mark on COP28 through the Drive Change Today – FIA Smart Driving Challenge, developed in partnership with AI data analytics company Greater Than.

From 22 November to 12 December, Drive Change Today will encourage participants to drive in a safer and more eco-friendly way.

In addition to everyday drivers from around the world and COP28 attendees, 10,000 cars from fleets in the UAE will be invited to participate in Drive Change Today during the conference period, with the support of FIA Member the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO).

IFFCO allocates AED 77 million for a more sustainable future, unveils 156 sustainability projects

The company aims to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by 17% by 2025

Dubai, UAE – 22 November 2023 –IFFCO, the leading FMCG multinational headquartered in the UAE, has allocated AED 77 million to sustainability initiatives over two years, with ten programmes comprising 156 projects in the pipeline. The company has identified six crucial areas in which it aims to make tangible efforts to boost its environmental performance – climate change, energy management, water management, forests, circular economy, and biodiversity.

To contribute to the global fight against climate change, IFFCO has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its own operations and energy consumption by 17% by 2025, in comparison to its 2021 figures. The company has analysed its corporate footprint, determining hotspots and key measures to be taken. It will announce detailed targets for 2030 at COP28 (the 28th UN Climate Change Conference), scheduled in Dubai.

Developed through a partnership between Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate research university dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), and Core42, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based technology holding group G42, Jais Climate aims to inform, inspire, and drive awareness about climate change and sustainability.
