General Motors and RIT Dubai collaborate to secure valuable internships for budding talent

Academia and industry unite to nurture STEM skills among future workforce.

September 16,2024: Dubai, UAE: Four students from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) of Dubai recently secured prestigious internship opportunities with renowned automotive manufacturer, General Motors, to apply their technical talents in the workplace while pursuing their university studies.

The collaboration between RIT Dubai and General Motors Africa and Middle East reflects the organizations’ shared goals to nurture the next generation of STEM talent and increase equitable access to skills and professional development in the field.

RIT Dubai’s students, Abdullah Adawi, Anas Nazzal,  and Shahd Salahat, embarked on their internships with General Motors.

Senior industrial engineering students, Abdullah Adawi, Anas Nazzal, and Tala Hassouna, and psychology major, Shahd Salahat, embarked on their internships during the recent summer break, contributing to several projects across different departments, while developing new skills along the way.

Gulf Medical University Leads Major Collaboration with Top Chinese Universities

  • Zhejiang University PhD Students Undertake Research Internships at Gulf Medical University, Strengthening Global Academic Ties

Ajman, UAE – September 9, 2024 – A group of six female PhD students from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine (China) have successfully completed their research internships at the Gulf Medical University led Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine in the United Arab Emirates. The students’ summer 2024 internship provided a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technological platforms, including Affymetrix, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), confocal microscopy, liquid biopsy techniques, and zebra fish facilities. The program was instrumental in enriching their knowledge and practical skills in the field of translational cancer research, particularly in cancer immunobiology.

Dubai, UAE – September 9, 2024: The BITS Pilani Dubai Campus proudly celebrated its 21st convocation ceremony, as 275 students received their first degrees, higher degrees, and doctoral degrees. His Excellency Mr. Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, presided over the ceremony as Chief Guest, personally conferring degrees to all graduates, underscoring the strong educational ties between India and the UAE.
