Green for go: the UAE’s long-term plan for hydrogen

  • UAE aims to become ‘reliable producer and supplier by 2031’

Dubai, United Arab Emirates –1 August 2023:The UAE has unveiled its national hydrogen strategy as analysts predict that GCC members can play a key role as exporters.

The blueprint for hydrogen is a “long-term plan to turn the UAE into a leading and reliable producer and supplier of low-carbon hydrogen by 2031”, according to Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, minister of energy and infrastructure.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: 1 August 2023 – Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, witnessed the signing of the first deal secured by the National Farm Sustainability Initiative (NFSI)Task Force. The recently formed ministry team has arranged for the supply of food and agricultural products from national farms, amounting to AED 500 million over five years, to some of the largest public sector institutions in the UAE.
