Get Ready for a Summer of Sports, Fitness and Fun as Dubai Sports World Returns with its Largest Edition

• Returning for its 14^th edition the region’s largest indoor sports destination spans over 300,000 square feet
• Running from 22 June through to 8 September, Dubai Sports World offers something for everyone with 9 sports, dedicated children’s activities as well as community events and initiatives

Dubai, UAE – 12 June 2024: Dubai Sports World (DSW), the region’s largest indoor sports and fitness destination, is gearing up for another action-packed summer season. This year’s edition promises to be the largest and most exciting yet, featuring everyone’s favourite sports, new features and events and thrilling challenges. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council (DSC), the 2024 edition will run daily from 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight from June 22 to September 8, with over 40 courts and pitches spanning more than 300,000 square feet.

Fan Favourites Return with New Features Added

Returning for 2024 are fan favourites such as badminton, basketball, cricket, football, padel, pickleball, table tennis, tennis and volleyball. The CrossFit gym with state-of-the-art equipment and the purpose-built kids’ zone, both introduced last year, are back, bigger and better this year. The DSW venue will also feature and the Mint Market, ensuring an inclusive experience for people of all ages and sporting abilities.

Enjoy a Free Opening Weekend at DSW on June 22-23!

Discover everything DSW has to offer during the Opening Weekend, where all sports and activities are completely free, with all sports and activities – from academy classes to court bookings and kids’ soft play, there’s something for everyone. Head over to DWTC on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June to try new activities, sharpen your skills or enjoy your favourite sporting activity with friends and family. Opening Week Highlights you won’t want to miss

DSW’s opening weekend kicks off with the all-new McGettigan’s Irish Sports Tournament on 22 June, offering athrilling day of sports where friends can compete in exciting challenges. Also debuting during the opening weekend, is the Mint Market, featuring sporting goods and more from local and international brands available across the weekend. The opening week’s line-up continues with Academy Day on Saturday 29 June, featuring family-friendly activities, academy open days and dedicated activities for children with special educational needs. The week wraps up with Yoga Day on 30 June.

Fostering a Sense of Community

HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said: “Dubai Sports World has become one of the most prominent and important sporting events that are held throughout the year. In fact, it is this singular event that enhances the elements and components of the quality of life in Dubai. It is one of the basic and most important events on the agenda of the annual sporting events here, whether it is for competitive or community sports. Organised by the Dubai Sports World in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, the 14th edition of this annual event will once again see various government agencies come together and work with a singular aim of increasing sporting events and activities for residents and visitors during the summer.“ As everyone is well aware all sports at Dubai Sports World are held under one roof inside air-conditioned halls. This not only improves on the aspect of oneness, but also provides a safe place for sports competition and acquaintance among various members of society, encouraging individuals of all ages and fitness levels to exercise and be physically active during the summer,” HE Hareb noted.

“This annual event is a meeting place for all segments of society of all ages from more than 200 nationalities residing in Dubai. Over the years, the Dubai Sports World has become a favourite destination for adults, children, senior citizens, sports academies, and even workers from various sectors, including sanitation engineers and delivery employees. The Dubai Sports Council holds events for these groups, which constitute an essential part of society, to live an enjoyable sports experience that gives them happiness, enhances relations of cooperation and acquaintance among them, and confirms that they are an important, integral and essential part of society who are appreciated for the services they provide to the city and to the community,” HE Hareb added.
